My 7 and a half months DS has started doing this abt 10 days ago..rocking forwards and backwards on his knees. At first it was so funny and we enjoyed so much watching him do that but now it has gone so bad that he does not sleep anymore. He is constantly rocking asleep an awake! It is such a struggle to put him to bed as all he wants to do is that. What can I do to make it stop, it is driving me crazy as I am working full time and he now wakes up every 30 minutes and can go on for hours !

He is finally over it completely!! He learned how put himself in a sitting position from his belly and is now throwing toys at mommy and daddy :) and just when I thought it's over he is now trying to stand up on his feet!!!

welcome to the crawling phase :D Tonight he finally managed to move forward on his knees and thanks God to that! Now he is sound asleep and so will mommy in a minute or less ;) yeah. My DS is 6 1/2 months and he moves backwards and in circles but does the rocking thing the last few days. Yesterday I felt what you're going through.... he fought nap time and going to bed. So mommy is working on two hrs sleep.

He is just practising to start crawling. This happens at every significant milestone- usually a week of no sleep for mommy....:( Once he can crawl and is a bit more confident, he will go back to sleeping like before. Had a hellish week last week where I was ill ( mommies dont get to fall sick) and DS was adjusting to his newly acquired skill set and would wake up every night .....for a week...yikes
