My DD has been out of nappies for Approx 7 months now but will not wear a nappy at night, most nights she wets the bed but rarely wakes up because of it so just lies there sleeping in it. Some nights she wakes and calls me so I change her but this rarely happens. I check her before I go to bed but sometimes this is too early so she hasn't wee'd yet. She won't wear a nappy in bed and still likes to drink fluids before she goes to bed. She's still very young and I've done some reading on the past threads on this and realsised she still doesn't have the ability to go through but I'm so upset about her lying there in wee all night.

I've resorted to lifting her before I go to bed and even now to putting a sneaky pull up on her but when I do this she is half asleep so when she wakes in the morning she doesn't like the fact she has this surprise pull up on although for me she has a dry bed. I show her the nappy and explain that it has made her bed dry but its just sneaky....I'm worried that lifting her isn't helping her and putting on this pull up while she's half asleep will cause her emotional problems.....

What do I do..... just let her wet the bed and keep changing her? Should I stop putting this pull up on her.... Gosh this is so difficult ....

I worked it out similar to HKA. My girl was around 2 when she was dry during the day, requested about 4 month later not to wear nappies during the night. For the first 6 weeks I put her on the potty before I went to bed around 11ish, until she complained half-sleeping that she does not want to pee. Same for the next 5 nights or so, she was sitting on the potty and said she does not need to. I stopped putting her on the potty and she has been dry ever since. Good luck!

I've been "potting" DD ever since last August (she was just coming up to 3yrs old) for the very same reason - wouldn't wear nappies in bed, but couldn't last through. We found that we had to "pot" at around 22h at the start (and she would even then sometimes be wet in the morning), progressing to 23h-23h30 (with not morning wet) and then, last week she started waking up to go to the loo in the night on her own, so we stopped potting her and she's been dry ever since (touch wood)... she wakes up of her own accord in the morning and goes to the loo before coming out of her room. Anyhow, long and short is basically to help her by respecting her wishes - DD regressed when we tried pull-ups because she knew that they were really nappies. Your daughter will get there - maybe after a good few months, but she will. I know it's frustrating, but if you haven't already, get a waterproof under-sheet or some incontinence mats (big padded squares with plastic underneath) to limit the damage. At least with these temperatures you can get sheets washed and dry in a matter of hours.
