Hi Ladies, Has anyone had their baby changing table built for them here? i have looked at all the changing tables available in dubai and non of them seem to suit me.. All the ones here seem very narrow and i would prefer to lay baby down infront of me and also have space for a few products on the top. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know...

The problem with most changing tables is they are not well designed, ideally table would be against the wall, you would be facing the wall and the baby would be lying in front of you (feet pointing at you) but they mostly seemed to be made so that the baby is parallel to the wall. I like the design of this stokke one, http://www.stokke.com/en-us/nursery/stokke-care-changing-table.aspx it would be a good one to copy although I would make the sides much higher so the baby couldn't possibly roll off, and find a change pad that fitted first, with a better side shelf for wipes/creams etc. Wouldn't spend a fortune just incase you have a baby like mine who is a very strong roller and you can only use the change table for the first 3 months.

Yes, we had ours made by Jumeirah Carpentry. Lovely work, matches all the other furniture but much more sturdy/better sizing than anything i could find.

Hi scottishgal4, I wanted a white room for my ds, so was lucky to find a changing table at ikea. Like you, i didnt like the ones where you'd be changing your baby from the side, so to speak. Have a look at the link. The changing bit has an extension so its longer as what it appears in this picture. You can then later remove it if you wanted to to make it a stand alone cabinet-thing. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S29828090/ Alternatively you can try jumeirah carpentry, they've made some furniture, and a gate, for us and their work is outstanding. HTH
