I had 4 C-sec & all are on exactly the same spot :) The first two c-sec were done back home & the other two were done here in UAE.
btw, on my last C-sec (yep, 4 children is enough for me), I told my gynae to do a very fine stitches where no one could see :)
I had 3 and they used the same scar for all of them! The last one was here in Dubai and my OB cut away the old one (the third one was 2mm above the old one) so I have a very thin line now! Very happy!
They cut the same scar for my second c-sec. I think they cut it slightly 'longer' than the original though.
Definitely agree with the others that subsequent Caesars are much easier and less painful.
Good luck with your delivery!
Thanks Gleekfamily and Nobbles. Do you know if they cut out the scar tissue inside? I need to speak to my obs as I really don't understand why she wants to cut another line. My scar now is reasonably low, so maybe without me realising she has noticed this and that could be why...
I think in general, most obgyns will try to cut into the same scar (that's what happened with me). But in some cases they can't "find" it (which just happened to my SIL), so they'll go as close to where they think it should be.
Yep, same scar with me too. Wad a wonderful experience - obviously much better than my first which was emergency. Like going away for the night and coming home with the most amazing present. Good luck x
Thanks FishMama. That's what I thought but for some reason (without seeing my original scar) my obs has told me they always make a new cut as it's easier with the scar tissue... I'm wondering if I should be worried....
I don't have experience with this in Dubai, but for my second c-section they just used the same scar (bikini line). For whatever it's worth, I found it less scary the second time since I knew what to expect :)
I'm due to have my second cesarean soon and I'm wondering if they cut into the old scar or make a new cut. I always presumed they cut the same scar but have since heard this may not be the case with some obstetricians. Has anybody experience of this in Dubai?
