Dr Loubser question

Hi. We recently moved to Dubai and are looking for a new pediatrician. Dr Loubser has been reco'ed by friends and on this forum. I called for an appt and because we are first-timers he can only see us in 2 weeks. I wanted to ask for feedback from moms who go to him - is he available at short notice for emergencies? I can understand that he needs to schedule new patients judiciously and appreciate the fact that Infinity even closes accepting new patients. But once enrolled, is meeting him still very difficult? TIA.

Thanks, ladies, that helps. And calling at 8am is no problem as is not being picky about timings - hopefully there will not be many such instances but I'd expect to be flexible in such situations and would just like to know we are seeing a dr I can reach in such instances.

We recently left Dubai and will really miss Dr Loubser. He has really been excellent. When we knew we needed a regular check-up for DS now 18 months we would schedule in advance. For this "sudden" appointments required if you call at 8am we often were able to get in that day. You just can't be picky about the timing. He talks to you like an Expat in that he explains about why their do their vaccinations and on what schedule also about your child's health and living as an Expat. He's great with the babies/toddlers. The nurses at Infinity are also really excellent. I have called a few times and just spoke to the nurse about concerns. If they are busy just leave a message and they call you back. Another excellent service from Infinity.

He's the best. As mentioned, best to call first thing for cancellations - I have never not been able to see him via that route. Also, the rest of the docs there are very good, if there is an issue just ask that they talk to him and he will weigh in. Can't recommend him enough.

Agree Dr Loubser is great - my son sees him too. He told me if I wanted to get a same-day appointment, I should call when the reception desk opens at 8am. I've not had problems getting same-day appointments if DS needed to see him urgently. But I usually schedule a few weeks in advance.

Dr L is great, DS has seen him for 5 years. But yes unfortunately he can be difficult to get an appointment with. if it's something that you know you'll need an appointment for in a couple of weeks then it's fine, but as for seeing him on the day/next day - very little chance i'm afraid! Unless you got a cancellation. That's what happens when you are popular I guess! ;)
