I have just found out I am pregnant with my third child. I had my first 2 children in the UK and I am looking for advice on finding a Doctor or Midwife that has similar views to the UK system. Both my births were natural with no drugs apart from gas and air and they were extremely fast. This is my main concern. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Beebee, I definitely agree with Swissroll, you need to click with the doctor you have. You have loads of time though! I'd go and see a couple of OBGYN's from the recommendations on here - and at two different hospitals, to get a feel for the hospital and the doctors. I went to see Dr Britt at City Hospital and Dr Braithwaite at the American. As you can see I chose Dr Braithwaite at the American, and I was more than happy with everything from start to finish. It is such a personal choice, so don't feel bad if you don't click with someone recommended on here. You need to feel comfortable with your choices. To be honest there are so many great OBGYN's here in Dubai that you'll struggle to go wrong. Another person to consider is Dr George Michailidis at Nine. I didn't go with him as I didn't feel comfortable having a male OBGYN but he's an amazing doctor, so if it doesn't bother you, you should definitely add him to your short list. Huge congratulations though! I'm sure you'll have a great experience no matter who you choose!

Hi ladies, just had a great appointment with Dr. Nadia at Al Garhoud Private Hospital. I was a City with Dr. Britt but changed as my insurance didn't cover City. Dr. Nadia is great - really liked her, she is great and has years of experience both here and in the UK. The hospital was really nice too - private rooms were really clean and nicely decorated. All her staff were so pleasant to deal with, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend her :)

Hi BeeBee32... CONGRATS! I am also recently pregnant and have been doing quite a bit of research. I found quite a lot of feedback on some of the doctors. The one's that came up often were: * City Hospital: Dr. Britt & Dr. Elsa (both had excellent reviews) * Cooper Health Clinic: Dr. Natalyia (good reviews and apparently gets straight to the point if that's what you're looking for) I could only get an appointment at CH mid November, so I'm going to see how that goes. In the meantime I am seeing Dr. Maia Danielson at AH, she seems really nice/easy to talk to (spent over an hour talking). Does anyone else have feedback on her? (sorry to hijack your chat).

One of my main concerns is the fact I have very fast births ( my daughter was under an hour and I never made it to hospital ). Has anyone else had experience like this? Beebee, good luck with your choice, really hope that you click with her! Unfortunately i didn't and this caused me some tears and inconveniences as I ended up with another Dr on delivery (can't say more on the forum). Having said that i dont think anyone could say anything about her impressive profile, it's just a matter of a personality clash! All the best to you and all preg ladies :) x

I had Dr Braithwaite at the American Hospital, and I can't rave enough about her. She's UK trained and was absolutely fantastic. Although I moved from Doha at 34 weeks, so I only had her as my doctor in the final weeks, but I plan to go back to her the next time I get pregnant. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi beebee32, I'm 23 weeks now and I'm seeing doctor illiana in Belhoul. I've had a lot of issues with this hospital. It's extremely difficult to get an appointment and I've questioned my previous scan which was meant to be the anomaly scan. So I can't help you on where to go but probably where not to. I'll be changing soon! Good luck!

I'm seeing Dr Britt at city hospital, she worked in the uk for a long time before coming here on sabbatical - no idea how much longer she plans to stay in dubai though. I came to Dubai at 27 weeks and she really helped me to understand how the care in Dubai compares to the NHS. She has a very laid back approach and has been great so far, not pushing every intervention going - only the things she feels I need. I'm 39 weeks now so hopefully will be able to say how she is for delivery very soon!
