Having had a beautiful baby boy 7months ago, who unfort hasn't got used to sleeping through the night, I've managed a bit of exercise and running but haven't lost my baby weight (had gest diabetes so really ballooned!).

We're going back to see family and friends in the uk this Christmas and I'm stuck on how to feel good in my chubby frame-anyone able to advise on how to stop looking like an overfilled sausage?! It's all about showing off my darling boy but I don't want ppl to be distracted by his badly dressed mum-lol!

Any tips welcome, I'm only 5ft tall so the extra weight is looking more awful....help! It's going to be so cold in the uk so how can I make warm clothes (ie jumpers etc) look slimming? I know ppl will say yes, she's had a baby but I want to feel good and at the moment I don't feel comfortable at all.

Max

Thank you! I feel so out of touch so great-dark vertical lines and oh yeah, body suit sounds like a really good idea:D Does the baby chub really come off easier? I'd better crack on getting it shifted then before it becomes too late. I'm only on one night BF.... Lol long cardigan and blanket...now that sounds great....maybe I should get a mum and baby matching onesie-lol! Thank you everyone, really appreciated-gonna try and lose a couple of pounds then hit the shops before the trip:) Max

First of all a huge congratulations to u maxmistry I totally understand how u feel...i used to think that breastfeeding would do the trick for me but unfortunately it did nothing. I started exercising when my daughter ws seven months. I went for walks and powered walked around the track on the palm twice a day and then headed off to the gym in the evenings. As it ws pregnancy weight it came of quickly..1/1.5kg a week. As for clothing, i did try and cover up in maxi dresses most of the time but i doubt it would help in London during December, defo agree with mssassy regarding the dark and vertical stripes but you could also try body suits. I wore them for a while, no one needs to know what's underneath ;) apparently its good for helping your stomach go in after pregnancy too...not sure how much truth there is to that. Wish u all the best

Dark colours and vertical stripes will make you look slimmer. Wear body hugging thermals/Warmers inside and go for tight denims and vertical striped tops and cardigans.

Oh yeah, know the feeling. My baby boy is 5.5 months old and I am sick of wearing the elastic band trousers I was wearing during the pregnancy, up to 6 / 7 months. I bought 2 pairs of jeans that are a size bigger than usual as I can't squeeze myself in my old ones. Also I like the tops that hug a bit at the chest but are floaty around the tummy and hip area. For the UK, tops like that with long sleeves for indoors + long open cardi if needed, and big coat for outside. Well, if it was me in the cold of the UK, I'd have some warm long sleeved thermal top underneath and possibly a blanket around me and not just so no one would notice the extra kilos! I don't miss the cold! Good luck
