I tried searching but obviously suck at it, anyone recommend any particular front facing car seats with a good safety rating?

The Maxi Cosi Priori is affordable. Is it any good? Or is the Tobi better (double the price)? What about CHicco seats (cant find enough info online).

We have the maxicosi priorifix and joke about it being a tank! We've been very happy with it. We bought it for DS and at the time it was the 'Which' best car seat. DD has just moved up into it and seems very comfortable too.

both maxi cosi and britax are amongst the best in terms of safety. we have maxi-cosi priorifix and tobi - both are great (priorifix is with isofix and tobi is without but feels rock solid when installed). have your LO sit in both to see which is more comfortable - priorifix is more reclined in the original position than the tobi, but tobi has more head-support. Just Kidding is really good for Maxi Cosi and are very knowledgeable. I would also be really happy buying Britax but I couldn't find the one I was after in the shops here.

I did some research on car seats after the infant seat and went with the convertible one by Britax too. My LO is still only 8 kg at 14 months so doesn't really qualify for a forward facing one but was really not happy in the infant seat anymore. I also wanted to keep her rearfacing for as long as possible especially here in Dubai! She LOVES it and I also like the recline option for when she is forward facing.

I have the maxi cosi as well and love it! DD is comfortable in it and we have done long drives in it as well to abu dhabi and she has been fine. HTH

I am of the opinion Maxi Cosi is the Volvo of car seats - try Toys R US for the Maxi Cosi one that then turns into a booster (if that is the stage you are at)

After researching for convertible car seats, I found that Britax have very good safety ratings and among the safest toddler car seats, and I ended up getting one for my toddler. I wanted a convertible to keep him rear facing as long as possible, and I like that it reclines as well.
