Hi Loza,
Could you please tell me what doctor you saw?. TIA.
At the New Al Noor Dr Sawson is fabulous . She works privately from The Cure Clinic in AD buit delivers at the New al Noor. She is pro natural birth too. You can see her at her clinic ( prompt for appointments with parking directly outside) and she guarentees to be at the birth. I have very much enjoyed being in delivery suite with her and confident in her abilities. They will direct bill your insurance company... obviously depending on your health company. If I were pregnant I would definately go to her.
I saw Dr. Cherin (who also works at Al-noor hospital). She is a very calm doctor and seriously she is the busiest out of all the doctors, you definitely need to make an appointment with her at least 3 weeks in advance. Otherwise you can be a walk in patient but will have to wait for hours.
I liked her but a friend of mine who wanted to have a natural birth didn't have a very good experience with her. The doctor wasn't really patient during my friends natural birth and gave her quite a big cut down there. I can only recommend the doctor for a c-section. The doctor did daily followups on me which was great.
One other thing that i didn't like about corniche is that you can't have a dedicated doctor, you basically give birth with the assistance of midwives and doctors will only interfere if there are complications. I didn't like the fact that i would have no control on who my doctor is.
By the way, i also registered at al Corniche hospital because i knew that if I had any complications, i would want to be ready to be transferred to corniche. You need to keep a full day aside for Corniches registration. You would go, get registered and preferably see a doctor on the same day. Lots of ques but you will feel better once its all done.
By the way, this is a piece of information that you might not know. You can see any gynecologist at any other hospital and arrange with him/her to be present at Al-Noor hospital during your birth. You can't do this at Al-Corniche hospital.
I hope this info helps :)
Hi,
I went through months of trying to decide on where I want to give birth. The corniche does have the best facilities but on some occasions, you'd have to share your bedroom with others. This was the only reason why I chose to have birth at Al-Noor hospital. I went for a c-section because I had IVF and didn't want anything to happen to affect my baby's life. I had my own private room and my husband was able to stay with me (overnight) for the entire 4 nights. The only thing that bugged me though is the fact that the hospital is slightly understaffed so the nurses are pretty busy and can not attend to your needs fast. I guess it really depends on what you want. My priority was to have a private room and have someone stay with me overnight to help me with the baby.
Hi,
I'm 29 weeks pregnant and moved from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. I was planning to give birth at City Hospital and my Ob/Gyn is in Dubai. I am worried about the 90min drive to Dubai when in labour and wanted a back-up plan in Abu Dhabi. I have heard that Corniche has the best facilities but not sure if my ADNIC insurance will cover there. I think I can use Al Noor but would like some feedback from anyone who has delivered there? Would I also need to register at both these hospitals?
Many Thanks Nic
