So I am due to pop my second one in a coupla weeks or less hopefully :)
Anyways, I have had this book since 2 yrs but never read it. Finally read it last week and I highly recommend it to all pregnant women.
It deals with natural childbirth, the different positions u can adopt, and how you can help your body do what its made to do, how the men can really help, etc etc.
Very inspiring. Very happy book.
There are some unconventional methods which you dont hear about, but when u read it, it makes sense and you wonder why u never thought of it before, especially if you have has a previous delivery.
Anyways, I highly recommend it, and hope everyone has a smooth pregnancy and easy labor :)

I'm due this month, and Dr. Elsa has assured me that I can pop anyway I want, as long as it doesnt involve anything crazy that could endanger me or the baby.. I told her I wanted to go hands and knees and she seemed ok with it... time will tell :) Fingers crossed! See what works for you at the time. I found that squatting really helps you bear down and push... couldn't do it standing cos my legs were giving way, so ended up on my knees beside the bed! Fingers crossed that you have a swift and easy birth experience!

I read this before I had DS and I agree, it's inspirational. I loved reading it (although I had to cover up some of the pictures when I was reading it on a flight home!) and it gave me a great picture of how I wanted my birth to be. Sadly, I think having such a picture so firmly in my head meant that when my birth wasn't in any way like I wanted it to be, it made the whole situation more traumatic. Here's hoping #2 is a little more the Ina May Gaskin way!
