I decided to take off today to see how this goes ( I still have leave from last year), I dont want to vomit at work since I dont want anyone to know. How do you handle nausea at work?. What I should eat, drink, take?. Any ideas, tips? have to go back to work tomorrow prepared!

Suck on ice chips too if you can't drink water to keep your fluids up. I also found knowing exactly where I could vomit rather than stressing about which pot-plant to chuck into helped... less stressed about what to do where! And as the others have said - snack constantly, suck lollies, chew gum... it all helps. Try sea-sickness bands too. Rest is very important - the less sleep you have the worse you will feel. I hope it passes soon for you...

Best advice I got was ginger biscuits - and to never allow myself to get hungy - so graze healthily throughout the day!

Snack constantly!!! But small snacks so that nobody really "notices" ;) Crisps, crackers, ginger biscuits, suck on hard boiled sweets, fruit...any crunchy worked for me, and i suffered with horrendous MS :/: And YES to the ginger tea, which many people drink for health reasons, so it should not make anybody suspicious really!

Congratulations. I used ginger and lemon tea at work to help with the nausea. I wasn't vomiting, just feeling like I wanted to. Nobody knew I was pregnant so just pretended I was off coffee and drinking the tea for my health. I bought it from the Organic Shop. edited by MirdifIngrid on 17/01/2011

aw bless, first of all congrats! well not on the nausea but on your pregn! i would just take some crackers with you, saltines or something like that, also some almonds, they are good to snack on and sip water in between. You don't want your stomach to be empty at all. Now, I know this is easier said than done, but you just have to force yourself. Been there with 2 pregnancies and really bad nausea and lived pretty much on bread and butter the first 4 months and got through it. If someone asks you about your nausea and or vomitting just tell them you have a stomach bug, thats all. Best of Luck!
