We're just mulling over the possibility of maybe trying IVF again. I have a little girl who is the result of 8 tries!!! I can't believe we're thinking of doing this again but we are.
From reading other threads on here, it looks like these are the best to go with:
Dr Michael Fakih
Dr Wael or Mohammad at DGFC
Dr Pankaj at Conceive
I know you need to meet with them and go with someone you feel comfortable with but I am very curious about Dr Michael Fakih. I'm not fussed if I have to drive to Abu Dhabi either. IN fact, that might be better as I'd want to be able to freeze embryos (assuming there are enough) and apparently that can't be done in Dubai any more??
But back to the doc himself... He makes some pretty confident claims in terms of success and I can only imagine they must be true because even if things aren't terribly well regulated or checked out here, they are in the U.S. Is he really that good?? I feel silly even asking but... I guess, I'm worried because we don't have it in us (emotionally or age -wise) to go through another 8 cycles, nor do we have the finances for that. We're going to do one try... MAYBE two. That's it. So I'm scared.
As anyone who has any input on this thread will understand, the tic journey is a wild ride through the surreal and our thoughts and questions and actions can all be a bit on the bizarre side!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much Mummabear and Flower33. Have to admit, I've kinda got my mind made up to go see Dr Fakih. But we'll see if we click when we meet. I mean... IF we meet. Haven't actually decided to do this yet!!!! Or have I??? Aaaaargh...

Hi M King, I just did a round of IVF with Dr Fakih and am 8 weeks pregnant with twins, I cannot speak highly enough of the clinic and the team they are fantastic and the cycle was perfect from the beginning, I also had two previous failed cycles with Dr Pankaj in Sharjah at Conceive. After experiencing both clinics and in my personal opinion I found Dr Fakihs clinic to be infinitely better from start right up to now, the best decision that we did was changing clinics and I am so happy we chose Dr Fakih's. Also he does freeze embryos as we have one blast on ice too. And I am also still going there for my follow up scans now. Wishing you the best of luck and lots of baby dust xxx

Oh wow! That's fantastic. Thanks Sharry! Dr Fakih does his egg collections and transfers in Dubai these days I know he used to have to do them in Abu Dhabi before, but he now has a licence for Dubai, and short term freezing of embryos is also allowed these days . Good luck!!

Thanks ladies. Awayfromhome, thanks but no no... I realize Dr Fakih is in dubai. That's where I am. But apparently you have to go to Abu Dhabi for the procedures (retrieval and transfer). I'm very glad the first time worked for you. Even though we were ready to accept that the first time doesn't always work, it was devastating that it hadn't. I can't tell you what it was like when the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... tries didn't work. Jalapeño, this is the sort of thing that seems quite common... it seems a lot of people go to Dr Fakih as a last resort and are successful. I'm thinking that maybe he's who I would need to go to if we decide to try this again. Congrats on your little boy!!

Hi m_king. I personally can't speak highly enough of Dr. fakih and everyone in his clinic. I went to him twice and both times were successful (although I did have 1 miscarriage). I had gone to someone else prior to seeing Dr. fakih and they had told me I wouldn't/couldn't get pregnant. I then went to Dr. Fakih for 2nd opinion and thank God I did because now I have my son. Good luck with everything and I hope it all works out.

Hi there, I had treatment at conceive, not with Dr. pankaj but with the fabulous Dr. Munira who does her consultations from Dubai Mall Medical Centre and then collection and transfer at conceive in Sharjah. I absolutely love Dr. M. We were lucky enough for it to work first time and found that hard enough! I can't imagine how strong you must be, but very glad to see your persistence paid off :-). I know that we had the option of freezing in Sharjah. Just to let you know Dr. Fakih is in Dubai, correct me if I'm wring but I'm pretty sure he is and from reading I think you think he's in AD. Good luck with your next journey x

Thanks Birchy... yes, I did do a search and have read lots which is how i came up with that shortlist of doctors. And like I said... done this 8 times so yes, I know that it's a pretty personal thing. But I guess what I'm really looking for is more info on Dr Fakih. If anyone can give me their experience with him, I'd appreciate it. From what I've read, it seems he waves a magic wand!!! LOL But in all seriousness, if he really is supposed to be that good and really does have the stats to prove it, then he's worth the higher cost. And if Abu Dhabi does allow for freezing embryos then definitely worth the trips back and forth to Abu Dhabi. Thanks in advance. Birchy... very best of luck!

Do a search there are loads of threads personally I opted for dr wael as we were very comfortable with him, collection has been done and we are in on Sunday for them to be placed. It's a very personal thing and what may suit one may not suit another . Good luck xxx Edited to add that freezing is now not allowed in Dubai as per dgfc edited by Birchy on 25/05/2012
