Hi Hilsbils Wow - you have started! Very best of luck to you! Dont worry about the symptoms I had exactly the same. However, do mention it to the doctor if you get very bloated but some bloating is normal and they do say that you should have 'stimming' clothes which are a little looser and more comfortable. This is exciting times for you now and it will go quickly. Also try not to stress about being stressed (if you know what I mean) as it will make things worse and this is such a stressful time as it is. It's natural to be nervous about your scan results but take each step at a time and keep me posted. Like DB I was a crying mess and to be honest I still am and I havent been on any medication for 6 weeks now! It's all the hormones. Please let me know how your scan goes. DB - so glad you are feeling good and thanks for the lovely thoughts. This is a tough old process and it's so nice to have such lovely people around. Can't believe you are 21 weeks already - where did that time go?! Happy belated birthday to you both and have a lovely weekend. xxxxx <em>edited by confusion on 02/08/2012</em>

DB!! How did you remember my birthday?? Thats so funny. It was on same day as footie match - Sunday. Yes its a big week. Hit 41 and started IVF. Dh was hard work this week and we fought so my stress levels went up which really annoyed me as he knew how important it was that I remain calm and happy. But I have been trying to take good care of myself regardless of him. How are you doing DB ... last stages now?

Hi ladies and dear Confusion I started the IFV this week! Daily injections feel ok. I'm on day 4. What symptoms did you have? I have some bloating or pelvic abdominal .... maybe left over from my period. Tomorrow I go for the first scan. I'm really afraid of tomorrows results in case the eggs aren't growing. Im sure it will be fine. Not sure what happens if eggs don't respond to the injections? Unfortunately I have been under some stress this week and hope it wont affect my hormones and the treatment. Sighhh. Its a rollercoaster !

My cousins aunt was trying for 15 years and she became pregnant (via IVF) when she turned 46 with triplets (2 girls and a boy). Now her children are 4 years old and gorgeous. I hope you both will have your little miracles, don't give up hope there's still time. Good luck ladies :)

Thanks Hilsbils. Yes, it's yuck......lovely to hear about your friend though and your DH's colleague. Real inspiration which is just what I need to hear! Dr Ou is amazing in terms of info and also treatment. Yes, I had all the preps for my womb etc. We just need to find a way forward now but I am determined not to give up! It's good to know that I have a 'kindred spirit'. Ditto with our luck wishes and masses of mature babydust. Please let me know when you are next on line so we can organise contact xxx

Hugs hugs to you confusion. We are both in the same boat. Ill be 41 in 2 weeks time - UGH I have a friend back in the UK who had IVF at 42, which failed, but she fell pregnant a few months later and she believes the effect of the medication and injections had an effect which had an impact afterwards, and she ovulated normally thereafter. Its worth trying naturally every month and using the ovulation kits. My Dh has a work colleague in Abu Dhabi who is currently pregnant with twins and she is 45. I was talking to Dr Ou (the acupuncturist - very good) who said that in our case next month, they will usually do a blood test at the egg retrieval stage which determines whether the womb lining is ready for implantation and then if the hormone level is too low (the hormone is called progonal or something like that) and that they may freeze the eggs without fertilization and do the transfer only the month after. In the meantime they are meant to provide lots of meds to prepare the womb for implantation a month later. Did you do this ? It may be worth exploring if it hasnt been done. Best of luck to us both.
