thinking of doing [i'>something[/i'> to the nursery this weekend, at least putting up the frames .. been so lazy this time round :-P for the second time moms, if you had your kids sharing the room, what did you do about beds? one cot one bed? bunks? two grow-with-you-beds? I have my children in two separate adult-length beds. Personally, I'd be too afraid to put my children in a bunk bed, but my oldest is 4, so she is still very young.

So Anon, is it just you and me now active in June Due Dates :) Others must be busy with setting up their nurseries :) lol I haven't even thought about a nursery yet. I'm not even going to buy him a bed until he's about three months. With my third child, I'm just very relaxed. Other than a few newborn outfits that friends have given me, I have nothing for him. I don't actually think I'm going to buy anything except diapers before he is born. I wear an abaya all the time so basically I am not showing except to the people who know I'm pregnant. I probably won't be showing to the general public until the 8th or 9th month. I don't know if that is good or bad. So far, everything has been going well with this pregnancy. I have nothing to say about it, and no news is good news! :)

Today I hit the third trimester! All going good, maybe sometimes just too busy @ work. Couple of days ago my colleague ligthly (!) mentioned that even at the end of 9 months she didnt get as big as Im now with 6+ months... That made my day :) Not Have to admit this time my bump is really stretching out compared to first pregnancy. I already now have difficulties with bending and get so easily out of breath! And still 3 months to go! Did anybody start setting up the nursery yet? I feel late with this again, same as last time. At least now I have the main pieces from DS, just need to get organised soon...

How are all the June mothers doing? Reading the March due dates thread has made me very excited, but we've still got three more months to go! These next three months will be the hardest, I think, having to cope with the heat and our huge bumps.

Your supposed to lay on your side for sleeping because the growing uterus and baby put pressure on the major vein which is positioned behind, and which comes from the legs and also the womb, you definitly don"t want to cut off supply to there. But as you all see, if you lie on your back too long you wake up, so don"t panic and just turn to your side and you should be fine. You can wedge a pillow behind your back to keep you from turning round.Laying on your left side is supposed to be the best for circulation considering that your liver is on your right, but I guess the right side is fine too, definitely better than on your back or stomach.

thanks k3! my tummy's becoming huge too, but it's smaller than last time thank goodness! i keep a flat pillow under it now at night to make sleeping comfortable. i do the middle of the night wake up too, to find myself sleeping on my back. the thing is i find it really painful, my back really hurts when i turn over. i don't know whether it's because of the spinal from the c-sec the first time, but it huuurts! the docs say you shouldn't lie on your back after the first tri as the tummy gets bigger and puts pressure on your spine. edited by square whisk on 22/02/2012

square whisk congrats with your good anatomy scan! Oh my belly is expanding in such a speed, it's huge... I'm actually surprised on the size this time, this is my second and I don't remember being so big so early and the streching pain from rapid growth was surely not there last time... I'm 23 weeks now, DH felt baby kicking through last weekend. Special! Sleeping is still generally going fine though, only sometimes I have some light insomnia. Lately I wake up in the middle of the night and realise I'm laying flat on my back. Have heard sleeping on the back is not good and trying to avoid... What's everybody's view on that? AND Full time working is already now getting more difficult, by 12 I notice exhaustion :)

Anon, great news that you can feel baby kicking! This week I also start to realise that belly sleeping will be a distant memory soon. Will miss it!

How are all June mommies doing? We are half way through!!! Finally, what a milestone! I'm about to schedule my 20-week scan. Belly growing rapidly, I look like 7 months :) Lately I feel short of breath, especially if I have to speak in front of people. Just a month ago I was waiting to feel the kicks, now waiting for the moment DH can feel the baby through the belly. It will probably take some time, huh?

You could also try lying on your side after a snack, usually I get a few kicks then. I felt/am feeling the kicks a lot less than last time, reason for this is that my placenta is anterior, in front , cushoning the kicks. Nothing unusual just less noticable kicks for now. For the high c- section rates here, I had my first in a place notorious for tbeir high c-section rates and had a nvd with gas and air. In the end it is your choice, although I agree that it can be quite intimidating if you have a dr wbo tries to convince you to hve a ceaserian...best to switch now, there are still drs whose scalpel hand doesn't get all itchy as soon as they see a pregnant woman. What helped me was to always stay informed, ask a lot of questions and in the end insist on a second or third opinion if you feel a procedure is not necessary.

Thanks for the info. I still haven't felt the baby kick but it's ok. I'll just let it come in it's own time. It's so nice to feel the baby kick because then I actually feel pregnant and start to get excited! Now June still seems like ages away and this pregnancy doesn't feel real yet! :)

I am 18 weeks now and haven't felt the baby kick yet. I forgot when you can start feeling the baby. Does anyone remember around how many weeks that starts happening? My neighbour had placenta previa for some time and she started to feel kicks very late... Baby was healthy and all fine, she just did not feel it as soon as others. I think in general by 22nd week most women have felt kicks? Try a full glass of ice cold (sweet) drink on empty stomach, lay on your back and wait at least 10 minutes, then change position if no action. NB! Laying on back is *not* recommended, but hopefully this 10 minutes will not harm anybody (if you feel dizzy, just stop it immediately!)

Congrats to all June Mommies! I'm also due with my second in June, today exactly 19 w 5 d. Pink! Only quite recently I started to feel much better, the weeks from 6 to 13 I spent mostly on autopilot. Felt like a zombie all inclusive :) Now much better, just a bit more tired than normal. Hope that many of you didn't have to have this horrific morning sickness and the ones that did, have recovered. In my case it was extremely heavy nausea 24/7. Still struggling to forget this nightmare :) I start to realise how different pregnancies are. My belly is +5 weeks bigger compared to first time! I also told the news much later, postponed telling to both my and DH families until the holidays. At work I disclosed beginning of the year after the long leave when I was not able to hide my bump anymore... Didn't find My Doctor yet, have visited some and feel the ones I've seen I have difficulties to adapt to. A doula said I'm going to the wrong hospital LOL. Apparently this one is pushing for cesarian. Nothing against it in general, I would just go as natural as possible by default and then see what happens and be ready for unexpected! My first delivery was pain relief free and fully natural. From that perspective my appointments left me feelilng quite lonely. So I'm speaking to a doula to get some extra support. It's 20-weeks scan time! Wish you all good luck with it! I'm going to schedule one for the next week and fingers crossed to all of us!

Hi ladies, bit late of me gatecrashing! I'm 19 weeks along with my second. Due date 21st June. No idea what I'm having as bubs has been very uncooperative at every scan! 20 week scan next Wednesday so hopefully find out then. Been pretty awful so far, terrible morning sickness, kidney infections, skin problems but hopefully over worst of it now. Obviously making up for my dream pregnancy first time round! Hope all you blossoming ladies are well :)

I think I felt my first at around 19 wks. If your placenta is in the front you can feel it a bit later too. I went in for my scan on Tuesday and baby kept its legs closed grrr, now I have another month to obsess :-)

Same here... quite uneventful but waiting to find out the gender so that I know what to do with DD's clothes. Now that the MS has eased up I don't really feel pregnant anymore. Just fat wearing maternity clothing already! Can't feel any movement as yet and it will probably be a while before I do since my placenta is anterior.
