thanks Virgo 79 for your reply, hope you are doing great. I am also not sure about the LMP maybe that was the reason. any way I will check with another doctor. but I have question, they calculated depending on LMP or the baby length in centimeter, as my gyna explained to me that depending on the length of baby. edited by Semsema on 19/01/2014 Dear Semsema, According to my Gynae...due date according to ultrasound performed in the initial weeks, that is till week 10 - 12 max is the most accurate, as till then they can see the whole baby in one shot ( if u know what i mean), whereas, after that measuring him/her gets difficult and every scan might give you a different date. LMP can be a helpful INDICATION, only if you had very regular cycles, which had same length and duration every month, which usually is not the case with many of us. Hope this helps!

Hello carla, I am doing good. Thanks Carla for posting I thought this thread will remain quiet ever ;-) Dying to feel my baby's movements, have any one else felt the movements. ? I feel like little bubbles but not sure these are the same. Semsema: thanks and congrats to you too. Fetal age/ EDD is always calculated on the basis of LMP and fetal growth. When was your LMP. ? Mine was 6th sep. thanks Virgo 79 for your reply, hope you are doing great. I am also not sure about the LMP maybe that was the reason. any way I will check with another doctor. but I have question, they calculated depending on LMP or the baby length in centimeter, as my gyna explained to me that depending on the length of baby. edited by Semsema on 19/01/2014

Hello All! and Welcome to the newcomers!!! Mollydxb: Yes....in my 19th week now.....but as a first timer, i dont know if the things i feel are flutters or gases! Waiting for them to become more strong to believe in them.... My Gynae till now and Dr. Mirza at the NT scan (week 13), have all said its a BOY.....But i will wait to believe it till the Structural scan, which is on 4th Feb..... Need some input here: I have been given the option of delivering at either City Hosp or Al Zahra (Barsha) and have heard good things about both.....what will you ladies advice? Any other great news from anyone else???

Hi All How's everyone getting on? A lot of you must be at the 20 week stage by now? How are you feeling? Did any of you find out the ***? I'm waiting till it pops out. I'm a sucker for a surprise. I had the flutters back in week 16 but now I have the full feeling of the kick which is just fantastic! It's brought back so many memories from when I carried DD. Is anyone else delivering at the City?

Hi everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm sorry for the late response as taking care of my 8 month old is like a full time job, lol. We've decided to wait until the 20th week scan to find out baby's gender, we've been told in my previous pregnancy that I was having a girl (16th week) and then in the 20th week anomaly scan we've been told it's a boy! So I think I'll be more patient this time to avoid false hope. As long as baby is healthy, that's all that matters :) Carly - There are regular playgroups and coffee meetups where you can meet other moms with babies/kids so don't worry :) Hope everything is well for all the preggy mommies to be. x

Happy New Year mummies to be! How are the bumps coming along? Anyone feeling movements yet? Gitte we found out the ***, couldn't keep it a surprise! First baby for us too. Would love to meet up, in the same boat as you Carly, most of our friends here are singles or married without kids! Work during the week so maybe a Sat afternoon for a slice of cake?! Good luck with all the scans coming up, we've ours in a couple of weeks so hope all is well :)

Hi all, Hope you've all had a good Christmas (those who celebrate) and have managed to relax. 15 weeks down and 25 to go.................... I think I bragged too much about my perfect pregnancy with DD as this one is causing me a bit of grief along the way but baby is good so very happy. My doctor very kindly printed me a 4d scan when I went in the other day with stomach cramps and it was amazing to see little one snuggled up down there. Already looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks. Happy New Year to you all :)

Hi ladies, hope you all are doing well. I had my NT scan yesterday and I'm happy that my baby is free from down's syndrome & is doing very well :) is measuring 6.7cm with the heart beat of 164 pm . We were so excited to see her/him doing all the acrobatics with those cuty tiny limbs . My EDD is changed to 6th June means 1 week ahead . All in all evening is great , yay ! And Carla, Dr. Pour mirza seemed highly skilled and I didn't face any such things during the scan. He asked us whether we would like to know our baby's gender. Both my hubby and I said 'NO' ;) all the best for your scan ! Teenachandy , congos and welcome to the group ! Ladies keep posting updates from your end! congrats Virgo 79 for your pregnancy! my baby measures 6.87 cm but doctor gave my EDD as 30/06/2014 and you mentioned that your baby measures 6.7 cm and EDD will be on 06/06/2014, means my doctor did a mistake? I am so unsure about this date and I feel that my doctor date is wrong

Welcome Pinkbutterfly.....Congrats on another good news for you! Virgo79: I had my NT scan today....all looks good. The risks are very low, basically, next to none. Yes, the baby was moving around alot....maybe a future gymnast :) MY EDD remains the same, that is 15/16th June. I can't fins any fault with Dr. Mirza. He was pleasant, jolly and if anything a pleasant personality which put me at ease as soon as he stepped in the room. Teena: Usually, NT scans are not covered by insurances. I had to pay upfront and now wish/pray for a re-imbursement. Hope all of us remain safe and sound!

Aahww carla dear, thanks :) my EDD is changed in FMC. I will ask my doc in my next appointment ( next week ) Pinkbutterfly welcome to your new birth club :) Teena all hospitals doesn't have the facility of NT scan, FMC is good but the charge is bit high 1550 dhs. I think Medic also do NT, you can call them and ask if they can accept your insurance card.

Does all the hospitals have the facility to do a NT scan. Please guide where I should go for this. Does oman insurance cover this scan? From this scan what all can we detect?

Hey ladies, hope you are all doing well and welcome to all the new in the group. Just a quick update from my end. I had my NT scan on the 24th - ages ago and finally had the results today. All is normal and looking good, all tests showed low risk. I'm so relieved! As your scan pinkbutterfly, the little one was having a party during the scan and was jumping and dancing around in there - so sweet :-) My DD is pretty steady on 9/10 June. Have a good day and looking forward to hearing updates from all of you :)

Hey ladies. I'm from the April 2013 group. And guess what I'm expecting again! Due date is 12 June 2014! I know it's going to be hard having 2 kids under 2, but I'm really looking forward to it. It was very unexpected but it happened so we're just embracing the new blessing. I'm currently a full time mom to my 7 month old, and he's such a perfect happy little boy. Hopefully his sister/brother will be like him inshAllah :) We are living in Ras Al Khaimah and I go to RAK Hospital for my antenatal check ups. Alhamdulillah everything is fine and the baby is healthy. He/she was moving a lot during the NT scan. Hope everyone will have a safe and happy pregnancy. Looking forward to sharing info and experiences with you all. xxx

Many Congrats! I can imagine how lovely/exciting it would have been to see the little one! I saw my Dr. on Saturday and was also measuring a week ahead but she said that from now on the calculations can be a bit miss due to different rates of growth, so we should rely on the earlier dates, as they are more accurate.......Now hearing about your date change, i am a bit confused. I am glad to hear that your experience with Dr. Mirza went well. I have a feeling that maybe many women have complaints against him because maybe cause at this stage in life they are more vulnerable and coming from different cultural backgrounds, sometimes our tolerance levels of taking humour is also different. I have my NT scan tomorrow, so will keep you all posted.... Welcome Teenachandy2011.......looking forward to hearing about you...... Come one ladies....lets post...its getting very quiet here....Cant believe have just stepped into my 2nd Trimester! :)

@carla I got the result of lupus anticoagulant screening test 10 days ago . It was 53 sec where as the max normal value should be 45. As my gynec told and studies shown, one test doesn't give accurate value, confirmatory test is needed the result of which may come in the next week. My gynec assured me everything will be fine by taking clexane/heparin injection plus baby aspirin throughout the pregnancy. these medicine are associated with side effects too... :( just trying to be calm & crossing the fingers for the positive result !

Welcome MissAdk and mstdubai! MissAdk: Sorry cannot provide you with any info. regarding the Latifa hospital. mstdubai: Can feel you anxiety here, Can those sharp pain be the stretching pains of the uterus? as sometimes i also have them but my doc and family, both have reassured that they are completely normal! Virgo79: Congrats on being 4 days ahead, whereas, mine measure 1 day behind but doc said its completely normal! Just a question, how does the doc know that your are on the verge of Lupus? Maybe you can ask her about taking 'Clexane' injections for the same, as they are much more effective. Also, if you have shifted to Al Zahra (Al Barsha), maybe you can try to see my doc, Dr. Nirmila Raghunathan there, as she would be doing a clinic there from 1st November. My NT scan is also booked with Dr. Mirza at FMC but on 4th December......Let me know how it goes with you as have read quite a few things about him on the forums.... Hope the rest of us are doing well!

Hello everyone, welcome and congrats to new TBMs! Dear Loopy, i know how painful would be that incident , thank god everything is fine. My last scan was normal and baby measured 4 days ahead. Shifted to Dr. Yamini/al zahra, she is pretty good, have been prescribed baby aspirin as I am on verge to develop lupus. Final result yet to come in a week and my NT scan has been scheduled on 28th with Dr. Mirza . Praying and wishing for the best! Right now enjoying this lovely weather :)

Ladies, can I join your little preggers club please? I am due in late June, my first, and would love to share experiences and advice with other MTBs :) Can I ask if any of you have experience with Latifa Hospital and its sub-branches? I went there and got my health card two days ago, and was referred to their clinic in Barsha for check-ups; am going for my first on Saturday. However, the two ladies I have talked to on the phone could barely speak English and were sort of rude... Which surprised since my experience at LH was very positive, everyone spoke perfect English and were very friendly. Any input would be great!

Dear all, I am also new here. I'm 7weeks preggy with 1st bb after two IVFs. As Loopy, I also had bleeding, three times already, but light ones. First time I rushed in the middle of the night to the emmergency, sure that everything was lost. Doc said things were fine and I needed to rest. My IVF doc increased the progesterone to 4x a day. For the last three years I have had abdominal pain which 26 docs in Dubai haven't been able to help me to get better. I have done all the invasive tests someone can imagine, (big bucks to docs here). For the last 12 days the pain has increased and I barely can do anything. I'm struggling sitting all day at work, when home only lying on my back. I had to tell my boss, since I missed work two days already. He is a good man and his wife was so happy for me. Still working, but feeling miserable with so much pain in the abdominal area with sharp sting, sometimes right, sometimes left. Doc said I was just stressed with pregnancy. I am not going back to her. I'm also on estradiol 100mcg each 48hrs and progesterone 200mg 4x daily. I'm 43, so it is now or never. Loopy, hope we never have this horrible bleeding feeling again. Praying for you!
