Just to update you all..... Saw my Dr. today...she has prescribed for a NT scan between 2 - 9th Dec at Fetal Medical Center, if possible with Dr. Pour Mirza......heard quite a few things about him but as long as he is good in his skills, i am not too concerned about his bedside manners. What do you all think? The GOOD NEWS!.....little one has shown a growth and is now 2.85cm...but most amazing of all was that we could see his/her arms and legs....and that too when (s)he was moving them at joints! ! ! DH thinks he saw eye sockets also....am not too sure about it. Dr. was showing me the nose and jawbone also but i couldnt make them out :-( Heartbeat is still steady at 174/min......so basically, all in all, all looks good! Have been advised to continue with Cyclogest till atleast week 14....and today i was 9.5weeks! How are you all doing?? Keep in touch and post your progresses!

Great news Carla, hope the supplements wont cause any extra nausea. My NT scan is scheduled for Sunday 24th. Doctor said that the baby should measure at least 4.5 cm before they could do the scan. A bit worried about that one as well.. Good luck on Saturday :)

OHH MY GOD ! LL ! Such a horrible experience! Cant even imagine what you went through! As everyone said, best part is that all is fine with the little one! A BIG hug to you! Gitte: I have been taking Calcium pre-pregnancy and have not experienced any symptoms....maybe they will be more for people who are already experiencing them. My big appointment is on Saturday, thats when my doc said, she will prescribe complete blood work, internal scan and refer for the NT scan. Anyone else going for the NT scan? a bit worried about that one....... Stay well everyone! All will be fine....cant believe we are already in/touching 10th week!

What a horrible horrible experience LL but thank goodness everything is alright. Just a quick update from my end. Went for a scan today. I'm 10+2 today and the little one is now 3.3 cm and everything looks good and healthy. I'm so relieved :) Still on cyclogest though and now also calcium and iron supplements. The doctor said that I should expect an increase in the nausea when starting on the iron and calcium. Boo I definitely do not need (or deserve) more nausea:( Next scan is in 10 days, one day before I hit 12 weeks. Can't wait can't wait :-) Oh and btw, I'm a marketing professional for a design furniture retailer here in Dubai. Take care and fingers crossed for all of you! xx

Welcome to the new girls I’ve not yet said hi to, Gitte_82 & Mrs Champ …… really nice to see more ladies here! Gitte – another Fakih pregnancy, that’s 3 of us now, you, me & Mrs Champ!! Well my update is not brilliant, I had a massive bleed on Sunday, I’m talking a full on flood that was the brightest red & pooled in the bottom of the loo (far TMI but hey it was traumatic). I immediately left work in a haze of tears having spoken to the doc who told me to come in he’d see & scan me straight away. I work in AD so the drive back to DXB was not the most sedate nor pleasant I have to say!! Doc did say I could go to the AD clinic but I don’t know where the clinic is and I don’t know AD so couldn’t face trying to find it, nor see a doc I didn’t know. The scan (THANK GOODNESS) showed the baby is fine, and in fact this was the first time since my scan a week previous that we saw weeny arms and legs! It measured a whole centimetre larger than the previous week and the heartbeat was strong at 183 bpm. The total relief was like nothing on earth. The bleed was caused by a slight separation of the placenta from the uterus wall, where blood collects in the gap and clots then finally releases ……I cannot tell you how terrifying it was, I honestly thought it was all over. BUT the doc did not seem too worried, I’ve been told to take it very easy, no exercise whatsoever, no s#x but bed rest not necessary. Having come off the cyclogest & the white tablets just 4 days previous he’s put me back on mega progesterone doses in the form of an oral tablet 3 times daily and an injection (Gestone) every other day that I have to have in my bum (ouchy – but worth it!!). Back in 2 weeks (which will be Sun 24th) to check progress and hopefully see an improvement in the separation. I have of course Googled it like mad and I think it’s called a Subchronic Haematoma, apparently is not that uncommon and in most cases resolves itself with no further complications. Couldnt find any info on what may cause it, and I read on one site the cause is actually unknown. Trauma I could have done without really but baby is fine which is the most important thing. Carla – Ive been chuckling over the the pups / b##bs references – my there are SO many terms for b##bs its mind boggling!! :-) Also, thanks for the dating clarification :-) Virgo – that’s rubbish re your gyne! Hope you find someone you’re just as happy with soon! Molly – I’m also feeling the size of a house……I don’t think it will be much longer before I relent and buy some bigger clothes. So, roll on 2nd trimester eh……I soooooooo can’t wait to get tri 1 out of the way!! Taking the dating from Sundays scan I’m 10 wks today …..woop woop! Hope everyone else is well!! Look forward to hearing your updates. LLx Oh Loopy!!! You poor poor thing! and you drove all the way from AD not knowing! You brave woman. Thank goodness everything is ok. Keep us informed x got fingers crossed that everything goes well for you. I'm no longer constipated but full of wind!! So still a big bloater. Take it easy

OOOPPSSSS........didnt know that 'pups' is another name for 'b88bs'.....thought she was referring to the lil ones...... Mollydxb, hope you feel better soon. Have you tried having the 'husk'? i think its called flabogyl? orange flavoured in a sachet.... Virgo79, thats bad! i can imagine how frustrated you must be feeling right now. Hope you find someone to your liking soon! Saw my gynae and had a quick scan......all looks good with the measurement of 8.6 weeks and HBR of 174/min! (S)He measuring 2cms......so cute to imagine! And yes, to clarify our confusions i have asked my doc, 8.6 weeks means we have completed 8 weeks and are currently in week 9. 9.1 weeks would mean we have completed 9 weeks and started 10th.....hope it is making sense. whats the update with all of you?

Bang bang! My gynec is no longer working with lifeline. And no one knows where she is practicing right now. Huh! Now have to go to another gynec of same hospital as we took the package. I just hope she will be as good as previous doc . If not we will shift to some other hospital. I must say lucky are those who have maternity insurance :) I'm working as admin in charge but planning to take leave ASAP. Congrats and welcome Mrs. Champ, I think we should not worry about TMI because all of us love to know about one another as I do :)

Congrats also Mrs Champs and welcome! I haven't heard the use of the word "pups" for b00bs in a long time :) Smiling a lot. I've also been suffering with the constipation and it's awful. My stomach is so bloated that I'm already wearing my work maternity trousers! I took a load of lactulose on Friday and it helped. I can only really take this though when I have a 3 hour window spare for obvious reasons. Sorry if it's TMI but that's how it is. Try and drink as much water as possible too, that should help. I'm a working mum (office) and I'm the same Carla1. It's a great distraction. Mrs Champs - great idea to wait and tell your mum when you're home. I wish my mum was coming over this year so I could tell her face to face. If not then Skype will have to do :) Enjoy your weekend

Congrats Mrs. Champ and welcome to the board! You said 'pups' meaning multiples??? Then i suppose double congrats are in place! I just pray that all of reach the end of Dec safely so can breath a sigh of relief! Very exciting but very worrying time also! A week had never seemed so long......Thank God for the work otherwise, it would have dragged on! So, what do we all do? Are we stay at home moms or working professionals? I for starters teach at a foreign university here.

I'm so excited to have found this forum and massive congrats to you all :) 7 weeks and 2 days although still feels unreal at the moment, EDD - 24th June We did ivf with Dr. Fakih, first time and so far successful.... Keeping my fingers crossed until Dec. 2nd internal scan, now 1cm and heart beat about 130. I think we're going to sign up to the Corniche hospital in the next week or so, heard great things about it. So far, tender boobs, although happy that the little pups are getting bigger :), nausea but not getting sick yet thank goodness, always tired, and no one told me about the constipation....! Sorry for the 'too much info' comment. Stopping cyclogest in 2 days and stopped my white pills today :) We've been in AD for 3 months so some of the ladies I'm friendly with know however I'm waiting until I go home for the new year to tell my family, I want my mum to be the first person I formally tell.... Feels ages away! Wishing you all the very best! X edited by Mrs Champ on 07/11/2013

WOW you ladies have really been through it. I don't really know how you've coped. I feel very very lucky to have DD. I think I'll be delivering at the City Hospital as I'm seeing Dr Christian Jozsa (Delivered DD) at Health Bay Polyclinic Not 100% sure. I'm a little like yourselves and just trying to get past the next few weeks. Have a good weekend

Thanks everyone. Yes its my first and long awaited. Have been trying to conceive for more than 3 years and Im dead scared to believe that it has actually happened until Im well into 2nd trimester. So Im like you Carla, taking one week at a time and dont dare to think/plan ahead until we're absolutely sure. Surprisingly, so far my insurance have covered all my ultrasounds and visits to the IVF clinic after I got pregnant (obviously didn't over the treatment). Im going to continue with the same doctor as long as my insurance allow me to. Havent checked out any hospitals yet, for now only focusing on getting well into 2nd trimester.

Hi Carla, I'm sure your Dr has already mentioned this but the scan is a lot clearer in the first weeks if you have an internal. I know it doesn't sound pleasant but I had mine last week and it was sooo clear. Saw the heart pounding away :) Just a thought x Congrats Gitte! I hope you feel better soon! is this your first? yes, Molly, i have had internal scans (3 till now), when my doc wanted to see/measure things. Its just this Saturday when medically the scan is not needed but just to re-assure me that all is fine, she will do a quick abdominal scan....a huge favour to sooth my nerves! Virgo, like you, my immediate family knows but that includes my mom, MIL & my 2 sis. Will wait till the 4th month passes to announce to the world and think/plan ahead. Till then i am just taking one week at a time.

How about you. ? @carla I resume to work as soon as I administer cyclogest same as loopy. can figure out all most all of us are taking cyclogest.

Congrats Gitte! Not long now before you can brag about your news! So exciting. I can't wait to tell my DD and mum. Thinking of leaving it a little later and sending mum an xmas card with pic of the scan. However, I might not be able to hold it in. Hope you're feeling better soon. Do you all know where you are delivering?

Hello Ladies I'm due June 10th :) Great to see others with same worries, questions etc as me. And great with so many June babies:) I've gone through IVF treatment at Fakih. Nausea has been killing me the last four weeks and with a full time job Im really struggling. Can't wait till week 12 so I can start explaining my strange behavior.. And trust me LL I totally share your Cyclogest frustrations. Luckily the doctor told me I can stop them next week. YAY

Thanks for the detailed reply, LL! was just thinking, instead of completely stopping your Cyclogest, why not reduce them slowly? maybe a week with twice a day and then a week with once a day and see if you do not have any negative symptoms (hopefully). Just an advise, as i suppose you are a bit nervous abt stopping it completely or maybe shift to the oral medicine, Duphaston? OFCOURSE, only after discussing with your doctor. Yes, my doctor would just be doing a quick abdominal scan to re-assure me that HB is there. She has warned me that it might not be a very clear picture to see the growth etc. but just a way to sooth my nerves! As i do not have a proper appointment with her on Saturday and would just be going in for an injection. So ladies, decided then.....8.3 or 8.4 weeks mean we have completed our 8 weeks and are 3 or 4 days into our 9th! Come on symptoms, hit in....so i know, all is good! ;-) Hi Carla, I'm sure your Dr has already mentioned this but the scan is a lot clearer in the first weeks if you have an internal. I know it doesn't sound pleasant but I had mine last week and it was sooo clear. Saw the heart pounding away :) Just a thought x

[b'>Virgo[/b'> – I feel your pain re the tiredness, it’s killing me!! Bed most nights by 8.30pm, light out 10 mins later, and I’m STILL exhausted the next day. I seem to be ok in the mornings but from after lunch onwards I’m dead! And I’m also the same with wanting nice food ALL the time! I’ve gained 2.5 kg in just under 3 weeks, it HAS to stop :-( I really do need to be a bit more sensible regarding eating and not give in every time to my craving of nice things. All my life I’ve barely had an appetite and weight gain has never been a problem for me :-(. I’m dreading my next weigh in …..lol! [b'>Carla [/b'>– sorry to hear you’ve had the flu. I had my flu jab just last night on recommendation of my doc, boy does my arm hurt today – lol!! Re the dates…..I’m as confused as you are and just go with whatever the doc says – lol, but yes I guess at 8+3 (I’m now 8+4) we’re into our 9th week. Anything to make it sound like we’re further along than we actually are ;-). Try not to worry about your lack of symptons, Im sure all is fine. Will you be getting another scan when you go in on Sat?? As for the Cyclogest ([i'>last day today – yippee!! Although I actually feel a bit nervous stopping it!). [/i'> Possibly TMI but the morning & lunchtime doses I use the back entry route as there’s no leakage and I just carry on as normal from the minute I administer, the 3rd dose I have via the front route then straight to bed. As for the estragen, I’m not entirely sure (I don’t ask many questions, I just let the docs get on with it figuring they know what they’re doing). But I figure that as I’m an IVF pregnancy my body just needs topping up on all hormones as the pregnancy is effectively forced therefore the body hadn’t naturally produced the correct amount of hormones to support the pregnancy. Saying that, I’ve just had a quick check with Dr. Google and apparently estragen supps help maintain the endometrial lining of the uterus, I never knew and now I do! :-) What advice are you getting from folk that’s driving you mad? I’m not getting any as I’ve not told anyone yet other than close family and all they say is take it easy, get lots of rest and look after myself! Hope you're all getting on ok - roll on 12 weeks eh!! edited by Loopy Lotti on 06/11/2013

Welcome Molly! Congrats! i am sure all will go well this time! been down with flue since monday...feeling a bit better today but been off from work!:) maybe you ladies can help me out here....am 8.3 weeks....so this means that i am completing my 8th week or have started my 9th? i know it sounds stupid but i cannot understand this...... as per symptoms, Virgo, enjoy ur appetite and i hope your husband is enjoying the mood swings ;-).....as for me, NOTHING!!!!! even sore B**bs are gone now.....getting a bit paranoid.....trying not to worry and waiting till Saturday....but this is easier said than done! LL....yes the pleasures of Progestrone....am already getting tired of it! I had a progestrone level of 43 at 4.3 weeks but still on the harmone! Just out of curiosity, how long do u wait to resume the regular activities after the med? i wait for an hour, which is never ending! Also, why are you taking estrogen? if you dont mind sharing. How are you all dealing with the constant advises from people? i am going crazy here!

@loopy i think you can do oil massage for the sore breast. Yes dear i was advised to avoid fatty, oily and spicy food. What Carla said is right and the other reason is to relieve acidity which i have. I'm having lots of fruits to combat the acidity. @carla I'm happy that you are totally satisfied with your gynecologist. just curious to know which injection are you taking weekly? I have been prescribed progesterone IM injections twice a week. I'm glad that I just have Lil nausea and there is no puking literally :)

Thank You both! I am going to Dr. Nirmala at Dr. Sulaiman Habib Medical Center. She had been my doc in all my previous instances also and really understands how nervous i am. For example, i have been scheduled to see her next Saturday but as i am nervous and would be going for my weekly injection, so she has offered to do an abdominal scan just to hear the HB and make sure that all is okay. I am very happy with her. Virgo, i hope you feel better soon and LL, i think we both are in the same boat as per the symptoms.......but i do not even have fatigue! Yes, belly is a bit out, pants are tighter but no one would know, unless i tell them, which i am not planning to do so anytime soon. Right now, only close family knows! Virgo could have been advised to avoid spicy food as she has nausea and if she throws up with spice in her food, then i suppose a very nasty burn in her throat etc. Otherwise, i dont think, spice would make her more nauseous.
