I went to look for something nice to wear to DHs work Christmas party tomorrow night ... I'm an Oz size 12-14 at the moment and 23 weeks pg. The clothes out there for us pg women, I have to say, at the moment are just gross! There is nothing flattering at all!
I haven't tried destination maternity yet, but admittedly the "nice" stuff in there I realty cant justify paying the $ for. I'm a H&M / mothercare, mamas and papas price girl and really missing Dorothy Perkins and the other brands that did maternity in debenhams.

As if feeling like a beached whale isn't bad enough without having to wear awful patterned / tent / potatoe sack like clothing! Euuuh!

Rant over. :)

Thx ladies I ended up with dress from promod that was ok but won't last for long. I did happen to also stumble on aback dress (maternity) that I had from ds1 and forgot about. I have been looking in new look and others but I'm big chested... Heading into e cup now so struggle with certain designs in tops or maxi dresses (even though I love them). Think I have enough to getbmr thru for now. Just was so sick of not finding anything decent. Buyers for maternity in mother care and h&m for this season seriously have no clue!

try Monsoon... they are on sale right now and they have many outfits that are flared or high waisted that would look ultra cute on a preggie belly... i usually buy all my maternity clothes online via ASOS... they deliver FREE to dubai if ur okay with waiting 2-3 weeks for the same...

New Look in Ibn Battuta had some glitzy maternity dresses/tops the other day. Jade green with sparles on the shoulders and bright blue silky top. Also had a plain black dress.

Destination Maternity is well worth a visit, as not all the clothes in there are very expensive. I got two black dresses, which are really simple but easily work for eveningwear with heels, glitzy jewellery - and they were 200 AED each. The other option is to order on ASOS.com, which delivers worldwide for free - if you have enough time though, as I don't know what the delivery promise is internationally. http://www.asos.com/Women/Maternity/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=5813

I saw a really pretty dress in the window of a shop that is near the aquarium shop in Dubai Mall. I think it's called Blossom, didn't see the price but seem to remember their clothes can be pricey.

Go for a really showy maxi-dress in a soft, stretchy fabric. They look stunning on a pregnant belly.

Totally agree! I feel discriminated sine I got pregnant! I bought my last tops in New Look thanks to one of the ladies here who told us. They had some simple black dresses.

Blush and Bloom (started by a mama here in the UAE) have a fantastic line of maternity clothes. I love it. http://www.blushandbloom.com/shop/maternity-clothes-maternity-wear/maternity-dresses-pregnancy-dresses/

why don't you try normal dresses or blouses that either have high waist, floaty or stretchy? I am sure you can find plenty of those in Debenhams, Zara, H&M or New Look When I was preggy and had to attend the wedding, I just bought a normal dress for Esprit, done my hair and make up and surely got away with it :) edited by dramaqn on 09/12/2011

I have seen a nice evening dress in Mamas and Papas in the MoE, but cant agree more - maternity clothes are not great here (plus much more expensive than in Europe!).

You could wear a garbage bag and still look stunning in it! Find something you're comfortable in and rock it, hot mumma! :D
