Hello, so few days ago I found out I am pregnant must have been 5 weeks, anyone else due date is in November this year. Hopefully this page will keep us company for the next 8 months.

Btw this my third pregnancy, I had a normal pregnancy & delivery first time round in 2008, then had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks last Feb 2013 and now on my 3rd pregnancy and hoping my 2013 experience was just bad Luck that had passed.

Hello ladies. How r u all doing? JJBAUS , u r almost done? Any contractions or sign of labor?? I m 36 weeks just came back from my doc, they checked again my iron levels after the injection I had. And I m fine I m having a nice level which will help during the delivery. They made me a scan for the streptococcus b, w'll get the results in two weeks. Otherwise baby is fine she s 2.6kg but started to give me hard time. Sleepless night with frequent trips to the loo. Also when for my first monitoring didn't t work first time, her heart rate was over 160. N had to the do it the day after n if was back to 140. How about u ladies.

Hi JJBAUS, You are probably home now so you can get Prune juice in Coles or any supermarket really, the one with pulp is what I go for as it is quite filling. Otherwise I get mine here in Spinneys. I'm a big fan of routines in general, however Gina Ford was really not my cup of tea at all. Some of my friends really liked her but may I recommend you check out a book I loved that I got in Oz called 'Save Our Sleep' by Tizzie Hall. I took bits of that & bits of the Baby Whisperer: Sleep by Tracey Hogg and found a routine I was happy with for DS1. It may not be suitable for the new baby but it's good to have a bit of guidance & motivation stuck on the wall to help when you're feeling tired. I hope you are all keeping well, our due dates are fast approaching! Xxx

Hi Ladies... Inching closer and closer and Im now almost all packed for my flight back home to Aus. Just 5 more work days to get thru. Gilly3, i havent taken any iron, as i have it my multi so ill survive on that, but can i ask where you get the prune juice? That would be useful as i think ill start needing a kick start soon. Also, do tell me more about the breastfeeding schedule? Im planning to just do my best to get into a gina ford like schedule, as i dont know anying else being my first. Kamoosha, i hope you arrived safely in Geneva and hope you are enjoying your family time. Im also glad to know that im not the only one with dead arms and knots up and down my arms. Any pregnancy travel tips? Im travelling this weekend, 35 weeks pregnant. Im praying to upgrade that is for sure! Unique me, i didnt end up doing a tour, but i went directly to the delivery ward and the midwives were more than happy to show me around. In fact, it was great to meet them and i felt very comfortable. Very unlike the overcrowded under staffed tour at city hospital. It was like a zoo. What is everyone else planning for their delivery? Would love to hear. Xx

Hi Kaamousha, I know for sure with Emirates you need a Fitness To Fly certificate from your Dr from the end of your 28th week of pregnancy in order to fly with them. I flew with them around 20 weeks and was asked as I have a massive bump ? Other airlines will have their own version of this so best to contact your particular airline for specifics. I'm sure you've discussed you travel plans with your dr anyways so just ask for the cert on your next visit. For me when I travel pregnant I wear support socks up to the knee, walk around and do the inflight leg exercises & drink a crazy amount of water. I also take my own food just in case what's offered isn't the best choice for pregnant mamas. I also travel as light as possible with hand luggage & ask someone nice to help retrieve my case from the baggage carousel at the other end. TBH I normally don't even have to ask to always someone lovely who spots your bump and offers. I haven't come across help for pregnant people on my travels but no harm in asking your airline. Wishing you a safe journey & a relaxing time at home with your family before your delivery xxx

Morning ladies. Hope u all are good. My little bundle of joy is kicking harder n harder n it starts to be tough to sleep. They say better to sleep on the left side but I get easily numb arms, then turn on the right n back again, but I say it s only 10 weeks n I can hold her in my arms, so it's worth it. I ll be flying back home next week to deliver there around my family , hope my hubby can make it n come before I deliver. I m just worried about 6/7 hours flight to Geneva at 31 weeks, do u think its safe? N do u think airlines give assistance in regards to carrying baggages from carrousel upon arrival, I m sure I won't be able to collect it up by myself. JJBAUS are u also flying back home to deliver? GILLY, I ve been anemic years ago n I know what a shot if iron in blood can do, u feel extremely energetic n fresh, unfortunately I haven't done the GD test. I was away but I ll be seing my OB in 2weeks time n check if we still can do it. For breast feeding I got no clue yet I ll be going for classes once in Geneva n for sure my mom will be around to show me how hihi. Good luck girls

Hi ladies! It's so exciting how quickly time is flying by! JJB are you taking iron supplements? I started a couple of weeks ago taking one along with a Vit C and a glass of prune juice every two days and I'm feeling lots better during the day energy wise. I have GD again but it's fine I had it in my last pregnancy and haven't had a single high reading since the glucose test so my diet must be fine. ( My fingers are flippin' sore from all the prodding though lol) Kaamousha its so lovely when you have little kicks isn't it ? Mine is very active at night & seeing my tummy move so much is crazy! Has anyone been planning their breast feeding schedules etc? Not sure if I've been OTT about all the lists and routines I've been preparing ?

Hi Ladies, Long time no hear, I guess most should be back from holidays by now? I had luck and mt GD test came through normal, but my iron is starting to run low and Im now feeling quite tired. A couple of times Ive gone to bed super early but then woke up at 3am unable to get back to sleep until 6am, which is not convenient when I have to work all day. I also get hungry but cant eat fruit cos it ferments so emd up having honey on toast... All the things that you shouldnt do... Mid night eating and carbs, thrn going back to sleep, so wrong! Im 32 weeks Im starting to get very uncomfortable. I cant eat much, I cant eat late, and belly is getting heavy. Sleeping is starting to get more frustrating as Im getting a dead arm and its like i have knots in my arms as a result, not my shoulder, but my upper arms, And the knots are super painful to knead out. Im sleeping with a materity pillow, ans flipping sides regularly, but still no relief. On the bright side, my little bean is looking great and growing just perfectly. Just another 3 weeks here and Ill be head home to wait for LO arrival. Also, Im really enjoying Real Pilates prenatal sessions, better than any other prenatal class Ive been to. Its active and strengthening. Pleas update how you are all progressing, would love to hear more about whats moving in your belly!

Hu Gilly3, Im glad to hear that my belly bundle isnt oversized afterall. Ill definately have to give some thought to some insoles, although to be honest, im probably better off with a donut to sit on as I think its the sitting at a desk all day that aggrevates me more. Fingers crossed you dont have any issues wih GD this time around! Best, Jjb

Hi JJ, 8 kgs is my weight gain too lol! I'm just thinking it'll all go back to normal in a few months & I'll have a awesome little baby out of it ? I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my first (borderline) and I didn't even eats sweets or chocolate! If I find a remedy of any form for the pelvic pain I will let you know, I've been told by so many people that more padded or shock absorbing shoes will help. DH just got me these thick gel insoles so I will let you know if they help xx

Hi Gilly3, I'm pregnant with my first, and I feel the same issues with my pelvis. I'm used to being quite fit normally but due to extensive working hours in my first 6 months I didnt get any exercise in. After any pre-natal yoga or walking/standing for extended periods, my pelvis does not like me, its as though its tilted in the wrong direction. I guess its normal though as everything slowly expands. I'm 26 weeks now, and I've put on about 8 kilos which I feel is maybe a bit too much. My fasting gestational diabetes test is next week, does anyone have some tips for passing? I'm trying to avoid sugar, am trying to eat rounded meals of carbs/protein at each meal, and I'm trying to exercise each day. Is there anything else I should be doing? I know its all hormone related so its quite uncontrollable, but I dont want to be in a situation of regret because I ate cake the day before ;-)

I've had to slow down a bit as my lower back & pelvis are really uncomfortable if I walk any length :( Dr says its normal for 2nd pregnancies and just the relaxin working softening the bones. Is anyone else having any other fun symptoms? Hope everyone is taking care and enjoying their bumps :) xxx

Unfortunately at our 20 week scan no heart beat was found. Both my husband and I are heart broken. The UAE has banned the drug required to start the labour this early on. I'm too far along for a DNC so have to go through the complete labour and we have to wait for it to start spontaneously. The waiting makes this awful situation even more gruelling. I wish all the rest of the November mummies lots of luck and love. SS

Yeah I knew I wanted Dr Ibrahim at City before I even fell pregnant ? my previous delivery wasn't ideal (whose is!) so I started researching & asking other mums after DS1 was born, I'm really comfortable with him. My anatomy scan is on the 13th, can't wait to see bubs again! I'm in Downtown & thinking of trying prenatal yoga if anyone has any recommendations? I had sciatica with last pregnancy & can feel it happening again ? hope all you other mums are keeping well xxx

We went for a tour in Zahra and it is very impressive, by far the most professional approach to childbirth I have come across in Dubai. A wonderful British midwife took us around, called Sally, and we decided there and then to go with the hospital as our choice of delivery. They also mentioned options for VBAC and the doctor I'm seeing, Dr Yemeni, is very accommodating towards such requests and natural birth in general. Mezi: The 12th week scan will be a combined test that consists of the scan and a blood test. Based on the 2 results they will give a ratio indicating the chances of your baby to be born free from any genetic abnormalities. Gilly3: Congratulations! Wonderful news! edited by Maca1981 on 16/06/2014

Had been to Zahra last week to visit a friend who just delivered..Quite impressed with the hospital, i must say! We have booked for the tour on 28th June. Heard the midwives are really good in Zahra. I have my 12th week appointment on 19th. Can anyone tell me what scans/tests to expect during this checkup? Is it only the NT scan that they do during that time or they do some blood tests as well?
