Lol Ember definitely not an expert!!! More freaked out than the first time! My boobs are killing me too. Like you I go from being nauseas to ravenous at the same time I'm going to quadruple in size by week 12, I've gone off bread though so guess that's a good thing.

FirstTimeJitters_ You can definitely visit different doctors until you decide. i did not decide till 12th week and then I changed doctor again as I did not feel very comfortable. You can call some clinics or hospitals to book an appointment and ask them what you have to bring with you. if they need any marriage certificate they will let you know. I only visited a doctor here at 12 weeks as I already had a trip planned back home at 6 weeks so I had my first scan back at home. So since you are going home for your marriage maybe you could wait till then for your scan??

Ha ha Gilly3 that is excellent work - a foot long and double crisps! I go from being a bit nauseous to being ravenous too JJBAUS and I am totally off chicken which is most inconvenient 'cause usually I love it. I have become addicted to the low fat lemon muffins from Costa though, so much so that I will be buying jar of lemon curd today. Normally I can't stand the stuff. Seekinghelp I've read that your Hcg levels off around week 10-12 which you're pretty close to now - didn't your gp/obgyn take your bloods when you visited? Still waiting for my first scan it's taking forever to come around. Still haven't had any m/s just nausea suppose I should be happy! B00bs are killing me though, have to sleep in a stretchy bandeau top. Here's a tip for those who have painfull b00bs - I have a selection of these wee tops from Koton which I wear under dresses/tops which are a bit low cut. They are great to put on at night and to sleep in. I have 36F chest pre-pregnancy G0d knows what I'll end up with! Congratulations Starsouthern, you must be an expert!

Im not having trouble getting to sleep, but I am having trouble early early in the morning. I wake up bloated and uncomfortable between 4-5am, go to the bathroom, and its getting back to sleep thats the issue. My hunger is beyond belief... Im so ravenous morning noon and night. I cant remember ever eating so much, esp given im not exercising (was told to not exercise for a while by doc, threatened miscarriage a few weeks ago). I wouldnt mind if it was going directly to my tummy, but im just getting fat all over excluding my tummy. Experiemced mothers.... Does this hunger die down in 2nd tri?

Is anyone else having problems sleeping. I'm soooo tired but can't get to sleep when I get into bed. Any sleeping tips? it sounds like most people have had blood tests already. I'm 9.5 weeks and haven't had one. Do I need to check with my Dr whether I need one or is this just done in the very early weeks to confirm pregnancy? hope everyone is feeling well!

NP: No I didn't know that at all. I just had nightmare stories in my head of them asking for my marriage cert and me not yet having anything! I don't have a doctor here yet no, I actually only arrived in Dubai 6 weeks ago so everything is still VERY new to me here to say the least. I wasn't sure if it really mattered where I went for my first appointment since it would essentially just be confirming the pregnancy etc and then I can go about trying to find someone I can stick with through the pregnancy. I'm probably totally wrong in that now that I think about it.....

FirstTimeJitters_ Just a quick reply to let you know that you can see a doctor here even before you get married. At least in my case nobody asked me for a marriage certificate, they just asked if I was married. Do you have a doctor here or still unsure of where to go?

Hey everyone, I've just joined this forum after recently finding out I'm expecting baby number 1 in November (we think). I'm kind of at the stage where I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and absolute terror, oh and constant nausea - always with the nausea! My situation is a little complicated right now as even though my partner and I have been together for 10 years and got engaged earlier in the year, we were not married when we found out about the new addition 2 weeks ago. Needless to say a pretty hasty trip to Cyprus has been planned and we're getting married this weekend so I can actually get myself to a doctor. We're thinking baby will be due in November but it's still some guess work until I get to go see a doctor next week - I honestly feel like since I'm the only one who's seen the positive pregnancy tests that it's not quite real yet. I just want to have it confirmed by someone else finally! Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi and congratulations to you all. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions here over the next few months and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Ladies, Congratulations to you all. Just found out that we're having baby number 4! Huge surprise is an understatement! Still getting used to the idea of having 4. I have boy, girl, boy. When pregnant with the boys I didn't get any sickness at all and craved really fresh healthy foods and was starving all the time. When pregnant with my daughter I was sick for the whole nine months and only wanted greasy fried food. This time I have a combination of both symptoms so who knows what's happening ;) Am extremely tired and already clothes are starting to not fit. Going for our scan tomorrow. Anama20 I had baby number 3 at Medcare, the care was fantastic. All the Drs and nurses were lovely.

Hi ladies!! Thanks so much for the advice, I'll definitely explore my options its my first pregnanxy and I really want to go the best hospital I can. Would love to go home but the travelling out of home for at least 2 months would be harder, plus my mom is planning to come, thank god! Has anyone told the news to people yet? Im dying to tell my close friends but the doc said its better to wait till the 12th week. I have a blood test on saturday and first trimester ultrasound in 2 weeks, cant waitt!! Gilly 3! All I want is pasta and pizza!!! And I generally dont eat that kind of food!! Best of luck to all! :)

Hi Kamooushka, I read your post earlier just wanted to say that a number of my friends have delivered at either American or City Hospital, and all have had very positive experiences. As for Medcare Hospital, I had an emergency surgery there in October, but my doctor of 2 years was my surgeon (i also live very nearby) so I was comfortable with the decision. The hospital is certainly not for everyone but they are well priced for many and their maternity ward was very busy. I will say however, that I was pleasantly surprised by the care from the nurses there. However, like yourself, Ideally i will go home to deliver, but will also make sure Im prepared with a backup plan here locally. Id prefer to be around my family in australia for the birth. Although that then comes with the risk that DH may miss the event if Im early/late. Explore your options down the track, as u never know the path you need to take. Exciting times ahead!!!

Hi EmberElftree, congrats on making it thus far! Seeing the tiny little heartbeat is quite astounding, esp given its still so small!!! Im going back next week for my week 9 test so fingers crossed my little bean is still pumping away madly! Gilly3, isnt it so strange the desire for carbs?? The guys in my office must be unconsciously wondering whats happened to me, what was once chicken and salads has turned into carb sensation. Today I felt as though I was grazing all day but I jut couldn't feel full, its like i need proper food at lunh. I went into the kitchen and the office cleaner was eating those 2 minute Koka type noodles, the smell was heaven and tonight i inhaled 2 cups of koka noodles, and I still felt hungry as its quite "light". Im channeling pad thai for dinner tomorrow night ;) Does anyone else get uncomfortable at night because of digestion issues?? Im so concerned as if im sleepless now Id hate to think how Ill be after 7-8-9 months!! I passed out early tonight, woke up an hour or so later and im just uncomfortable with my stomach, feels gassy and full, like i need to sit up and let my body digest for a while. Sorry about the whining, its late and im tired. Loads of baby blessings to you all xoxo

How exciting Kaamousha, we can't wait to hear the little heart beating! My first hcg was 123.4 (easy to remember!) and 2 days after was 334 so had more than doubled which doc said was good. She said to book in for 10 days to 2 weeks after for my first app. with gyn which would be some time next week. She said we should be able to hear the heartbeat by then. I think I'm actually 6w3d now she thought I was further along going by my LMP and the usual 28 day cycle at my first appointment but my cycles range from 24 to 35 days! Have a disgusting cold at the moment so feel a bit queasy anyway not sure if it's due to being preg or because of the cold. Feel a bit miserable as can't take any meds or painkillers so just sweating it out (literally) :o( Congratulations JBAUS!! I don't "feel" pregnant either really apart from some stretchy bubbly feelings & I noticed this morning that my usually delicate pink areolae are stretching ¡ Weird!!

Hi ladies... Great to hear positive stories from you all. I have to say the waiting game is killing me also. Im now 8 weeks, no morning sickness (thank god), but a general queasiness if i get hungry. I presume thats normal. What are your experiences?. Ive also been eating more carbs than usual... Is anyone else feeling themselves grow out of their clothes so soon? I also feel my digestion is quite bad now, i often go to bed very uncomfortable and sleep restless if ive eaten too late. Another week til im back at the dr's to make sure little bean is ok, strange that I dont "feel" pregnant. Somehow I imagined it being different. I just feel super podgy :( Loads of healthy happy baby dust to you all xxx

Congrats ladies, Emberelftree, was looking for you, so, how I se dry thing with you. I didn't t update you on the other post. We went the 26th n we did hear the hear beating.she requested the first complete blood work which I ve done yesterday. We ll see the results but Thursday. So how was your bhcg levels? Anama, I don t know about delivering in medcare but for sure, medcare is not anymore on my list, seriously doctors there are like amateurs. I moved to jumeirah hospitals which is a bit better. But I m planning to go back home n delivering there. At least I know how good is the medical care in switzerland n also it easy when you deliver home your baby papers are easily done rather than going to embassy n do this n that. Good luck ladies

Thanks seekinghelp, my usual gyn is on hols so I've booked with another but her first appointment isn't until 20th. I would like to go in sooner and would like to have regular check-ins too! Might see if I can get an appointment with someone else prior to that. Would love to see what is happening in there. Hi Anama congratulations to you! I don't know anything about your doc or about delivering at Medcare sorry. There are a few threads on it with some mixed reviews. I'm sure one of the other ladies will advise you.

Hello ladies! First of all congratulations to all!! I've just signed up to the site as reading all your comments have helped me a lot. I am 9 weeks pregnant and today I had my first check with dr. Nazia amjad at symbiosis clinic in silicon oasis. She is usually a medcare hospital where I would eventually deliver if everything goes well. Does anyone know anything about this doctor? Or about delkvering in medcare hospital? Thanks for all your help in advance!!

Congratulations Emberelftree. Gosh, that is a long time to wait. My OB might be over cautious but I see her every 2 weeks to check the heartbeat until we hit 12 weeks. It might be excessive but I like the regular check ins! hope you continue to be free from morning sickness!

Hi all & congratulations! I am 6 weeks now with my first pregnancy. Seekinghelp, I don't have any sickness either but I am tired and have stretchy, crampy feelings and twinges which I take as a good sign that something is happening! I have been to the doc for hcg levels after taking 4 tests at home (just to be sure ;-) but my first app. with gyn isn't until 20th April. It seems such a looooooong time away, how do you cope with waiting to see what's happening?!!

Hi Seekinghelp! Joints are better thanks, it turns out it wasn't pregnancy related (so the doctor thinks anyways) I didn't have any morning sickness with my DS at all so try not to worry yourself x

Congratulations everyone! I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my second. So far, not feeling any morning sickness which part of me is relieved about but part of me is worried as I had it at this stage with my first pregnancy. How is everyone else feeling? gilly3, did you find out what is causing your joint pain? My sore ankles have got better now so hope yours have improved too.

Hi Jennifer-bey, I too am pregnant, must be around 6 weeks now. But its my first. I had a chemical pregnancy last June, but so far the baby is hanging on. I had a scare last weekend as I bled a bit, but the next day I saw my OB and we did a scan and it showed a heartbeat, which is a really good sign apparently. I've been asked to "rest" for the next two weeks before we do another scan to make sure everything is ok. I have a very intense stressful job so I only get to rest when I finally get home, which doesnt feel like long enough. I've started to get a slightly sick/weak feeling when I havent eaten for a while... and I'm losing a bit of my appetite which counter-acts the feeling of being sick/weak when hungry. Oh well... i'm trying to take each day as it comes. Any advice given its your third?
