just be aware that if you go down the private hospital route and if you need any sort of scbu care they will transfer you to the corniche, check out which hospital you will deliver in as the likes of al noor do not have all the facilties and it has been known that problems have occured and you have to go by ambulance and there was no space in the corniche hospital (if you deliver there they will have to provide the cover etc).

I would second Dr Sawson at Cure Diagnositc who delivers at Al Noor. I have been to a few births with her and very much like her approach. In looking for an OB, visit them for an interview to see how you like them. Ask them questions such as what is their C section rate, how much do they intervene or let nature take its course, where were they trained, experience etc and this will give you a good idea of whether you are comfortable with them. Discuss with them what is important to you in giving birth and judge their response as to how flexible or rigid they are with your wishes Best of luck.

Hi Klee, I had the same issue! I found Dr Sawsan at Advance Cure, she delivers at Al Noor. She was recommended by a fellow Aussie friend (who lives in AD) and I cant recommend her enough. In the end, DH and I stayed in Dubai but we were so happy with her, we continued to drive to AD & we had our baby at Al Noor 2 months ago. I wouldn't hesitate to do the same again, she's brilliant. She's lebanese, very direct & factual (she doesn't fluff anything) but a very lovely lady & very funny! HTH.

Hi mamas, we are moving from dubai to ad and I am at a loss as to stick with my ob here at City or find someone new. We will most likely live off island, and in looking at the Al Noor airport road drs listings, none are Western educated. That takes me out of my comfort zone, right or wrong. With DD I had a c section (in the usa), due to her big head and a squished pelvis. I know I might be looking at another one. Thoughts? Would really love to hear some great stories. We have Daman insurance and need to stay in network.
