Hi Ladies,
I'm due in at start of March and was just considering whether we will need to take our passports and marriage certificate to the hospital for the purposes of issuing birth notification for bubs. Anyone know what to do?
TIA

Really?? I was really happy with it this time around and it was packed full of bioderma products and other goodies. I gave birth at the start of October so I would follow up why they suddenly stopped.. As for the painkillers, I used to visit the nurses station as soon as it was time to dispense more if they didn't come in time! I didn't have a c section but had bad pelvic pain and contractions post birth and couldn't stand without a belly band either.

Company is called baby steps. They're brilliant.. You get a brochure in the city nappy bag too! You got a nappy bag? I had to beg just to get my Panadol on time, after a c-section! LOL:\:

For me, my doctor told me to bring it for the next hospital visit. They prepare everything for me. Ask your doc.

Hi Sparky, Our LO was born at City hospital and they requested we bring in our original marriage certificate (I remember because DH had to run home specifically to get it). However, they only ended up needing a copy. They never asked for our passports, or even copies. If you are delivering at City I would highly recommend using a service to handle the birth certificate. I can't even remember what it was called but it was great, they told you exactly what was needed to complete the birth certificate, they came out to our villa to collect all the documents and deliver them to the next step, and then when the birth certificates are complete, they deliver the back to your villa. I think the cost was around 300dhs but it saved us a bunch of time and hassle. Maybe give City a call, DH seems to think that someone working in that dept told him about it. Hope this helps. This service was fantastic. Certainly well worth doing. The midwives at city should know the name of the company and have their number, alternatively you can ask for sister Marty in maternity at city (the she still there?) she will have it because she was the one who gave it o us when we did antenatal classes there. We just took a. Copy of our marriage certificate and passport/visa copies. edited by AussiePup on 21/02/2012

I don't think you need your passport but you definitely need to bring your marriage certificate in order to be discharged from the hospital.
