since my now,5,5 month old was 4 month i think he has been having the wonder weeks..
he used to sleep 6-7 hours straight, but from 4 months he used to wake up every 2 hours and be hungry.. this has been going on for almost 2 months now. it has improved a bit and now he wakes up every 3 hours. last week i tried to shush him back to slpeep when he woke up 3 hours later. after 1,5 hours of calming and putting him down 5 times i gave in and fed him and justr feed him every 3 hours or when he wakes up.. but im getting tired and wondering if i should keep feeding him whenever he wakes up during nights or try and be consistent and just pick up and calm him and then down again? like i said he cried for 1,5 hours the other day and i just couldt take it anymore..

Well i thought he was ready for solids so tried with some avocado but he wasnt interested.will try banana to morrow. With dreamfeed do i just put him to the breast b4 i go to sleep? Wake him up? they're both quite strong flavours for a first taste of food... maybe actually try the baby rice made up with some of your expressed milk? Personally, I would feed whenever they wake, but that's just me - I did this with both of my two (no dream feed, just feeding when they woke and asked for it) and was confident that it wasn't a comfort thing. When they did wake at night, I never switched the lights on or changed them or spoke/sang to them - night feeds are about business, not pleasure! lol Lastly, "hungry baby" formulas (or indeed any formula) are not proven to make the baby sleep for longer.

With regards to the dreamfeed i or DH would gently lift DS from crib and hand express some milk onto her lips she would wake up just enough to latch on and feed but without waking up. Alternatively DH would give a bottle of EBM to her and then eventually formula doing it the same way. As she got used to it she would get angry if we didnt get the milk in fast enough, lol! Do not burp baby and dont change nappy unless poo. Keep the lights low and noise free. May take a week or so for baby to get used to it as may wake up more than you would like the first few times but then will become part of the routine as long as you dont talk/stimulate them etc. Try baby rice and cereal as fruit/veg they might not be quite ready for. Best of luck!

what i did when DD was doing that was to swaddle her back, just for a while.. feed her alot at around 5-6 pm alternating b**bs.. have her showered/bathed and she was asleep by 7.30 pm latest... wen I go off to bed at 11pm, i dreamfeed her with formula (now) or you can give her EBM ... HTH S

Try the hungry baby formula if you dont want to start solids just yet you may satisfy him that way or perhaps try increasing the volume of milk you give him at each feed. My DD was on 210ml at 4months even though the cans say wait till 5/6months for this amount but she was one hungry girl. Could also try baby rice/cereal as previosly suggested as it is nearing that time. Dreamfeed helped my dd to sleep through so also worth trying.

Have you started solids? It sounds like there's a good chance he's hungry! There is a stage of sleep regression around the 4 month mark - so this could have started with that. Also - try a dreamfeed prior to you going to bed to given him some more calories at a time that's better for you!
