thanks for your responses ladies :) HE is still 6 mnths - so early days of weaning - which is why i cant take alot of the finger foods yet. i guess i will go for the asking for water option in restaurants? Thanks for the beaba tip! will go out and buy some. and thanks for the recipe idea too :)

apart from suggestion by Sal 123 try this website- http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com its wonderful when i go out i normally carry banana, yoghurt, breadsticks, cucumber or spinach omelette. that's my baby's preference. i do keep heinz baby food jar for extreme emergencies, in diaper bag. or i just cook broken wheat and some vegetables to that but do not keep it for long time. he likes to have mixed veg soup with beetroot particularly. i store in ice cube trays, then pop them in freezer bag and label them. i do try to cook fresh but keep some food in fridge too.

Hi Mols, At home I usually warm and defrost DD food on the stovetop. Sometimes I use the microwave to reheat but only for 30 seconds on low power. When I go out I usually just take yogurt or something simple like avocado or a puree of butternut squash since it doesn't have to be so hot. Sometimes if I'm in a restaurant I will ask for hot water to warm up her food a bit but it can get messy. For storage I use the beaba multi-portion storage freezer containers. They are pricey but all you need is one. After I freeze her food I will pop them out the following day and put them all in a freezer bag and tie it. When DD was 6-8 months I would give her only 1 portion(1/4cup) for lunch and dinner. She is almost 9 months old now and I have started giving her 2 portions for each meal. HTH!

Hi ladies - ive started weaning my little one recently and just a few boring questions What do you ladies do with homecooked food when out and about? I find emersing it in water just takes forever so is it really feasible? and what about at home? im trying to avoid a microwave if possible.... How best do you store at home? ice cube trays? Til when is that portion size right? Thanks so much!
