Hi Ladies,

Please can you give me an insight into what you feed your 6 month old baby?

What brands of cereal and rice etc do you use? I am currently using Organix and its not really going down well....

THanks

My baby eats 4 bottles a day (180 or 210 ml) and I give her after the morning nap either little yoghurt or pureed fruit (or oats with formula), after the noon nap she has either a multicereal biscuit (altough she plays more with it than she eats it) or I mix it with little formula like a cereal kind of mix. When we have dinner she usually has some vegetables (a few tpoons only) or little chicken (more like 2-3 bites).

Hi My DD only ever took 4 bottles during the day, she slept through the night from little over three weeks. When I started to give her lunch she gradually cut her lunch feed out... so at lunch time I just start with her solid. I started to wean her at 4months, I started with all the normal veg, carrots, potatoes, butternut squash, green beans, cougettes, pears apples etc. When she got to 5months i also gave brocoli, peach, cauliflower, swede.... For lunch now I am giving her chicken casserole puried up, so maybe 2-3cubes of this and 3-4cubes of veg... I give her fruit in the morning and in the evening after her supper...this consists of 1-2cubes of pears/apples/peaches/banana etc...

Hi this is my 3rdlittle one, and for my dd and my son who is now 6 months, I've used the book annabel Karmels baby n toddler meal planner...if u can't get to a book shop they have it all online...lovely recipes to give to ure little one. We normally do for my 6 month breakfast milk he drinks a full bottle his a little greedy lol, then he can have weatabix, scrambled egg with cheese, normal full cream yoghurt mixed with fruit such as banana peach apples or pears, I normally boil them up n freeze some I mix together etc so it's a nice purée for him. Bits of pancakes, tatie fingers, or a muesli I use plum range in spinneys, or I get organix banana porridge that's ready to eat if I'm in a rush. He has bottle milk mid morning. Then lunch when he wakes up sometimes around 12 or could be around 2 I just work round him. Lunch there are loads a recipes his a bit fussy this one but loves fish I cook cod and mix it with carrots and cauliflower and sweet potatoe all from frozen packs...they can eat mini shepherds pie or spam Bol, chicken sweet potatoe n apple , leek n potatoe purée ...there's hundreds of ideas on line. He also has the rice cake snacks etc from the baby section in and I give him water as its getting hot especially if we are out. I also save food say if I cook a roast dinner I'll save the potatoes n stuffing and chicken and he can eat it himself cold the next day with his purées. His has another bottle in afternoon, though he won't drink it all then dinner then another bottle before bed asleep latest 8 pm. Hth

Hi I am currently giving my DD a bottle first thing, she will take anything from 5-7ozs, then I will give her some cereal I was using Organix but she doesnt like it. I recently changed to Aptematil and she is liking this much better. For dinner I am giving her 5-6cbues of veggies, I have recently started to give her protein so will gradually reduce the veggies and increase protein. In afternoon I give her another bottle again she will take 5-7ozs, then about 5.30 is her dinner which is rice, I had been givin her Organix but will try another brand as she is not fussed... or is there something else I cud be giving her. THne at night I give her a bottle before bed, ususally around 6-7ozs... I just dont know if all this sounds alot or not enough. Please advise

I am also curious to hear more. I give mine some cereal in the morning, only 3-4 teaspoons, he enjoys the cereal, I also use Organix, why do you say it is not going well?. In the afternoons I give him half smash banana/carrot/apple. The doctor told me to try to give him more veggies instead. He is still taking milk every 3 hours during the day, and BF on demand at nigth. Still waking up 1-3 times :( edited by imolinar on 03/04/2012
