My 4 month old DD has been teething for a while now but seems to be more unsettled and not finishing her bottles. Someone recommended teething powders. Where can you buy them and how do you use them? Any other solutions to help comfort her?

Health shops and boots should sell them, I used an amzin one from uk, they were homeopathic granules, instantly soothed her, do you have anyone coming over, I will look for the name of them, they were in a green box, worked a treat. Try a cooling ring for her to naw on. Rub a little bit of bonjela (I know there are different views on this) on her gums. The powder you just pour into dd mouth. Good luck I think you mean nelsons teething powder? Its fab, have used them on all 3 of my kids. Haven't spotted them here though, usually stock up in the uk or get visitors to bring them over.

We used Dentinox gel, but it's also available as powder. Also, sometimes, we would freeze whole carrot (bigger part) or hard cucumber and gave to DS to suck on them - just keep an eye on your LO

Any other solutions to help comfort her? I have been told that there is a homeopathic medicine, Calcarea phosphorica that is great for teething. DS is also 4 months and seems like he is teething , so I've also been checking. But really dont know where we can buy homeopathic medicines in Dubai, will let you know if I find it. edited by Glitzi on 09/04/2011

If you decide to use Bonjella, check that it's the teething version, as they recently (a couple fo years ago) realised that the hitherto normal version (now branded for adults) contained a substance linked to a nasty neural condition in children. I just hope that the UAE has cottoned on to this and has recent stocks! I've never seen teething powders here. The main ones in the UK are Ashton's & Parsons and Dentinox (I think)... I used Ashton's & Parson's and it was fabulous... somehow seemed to instantly calm!

As far as I know you can't get the teething powders in Dubai, but would love to hear otherwise!
