Giving your little one a name is exciting as that becomes their identity later on
The first choice a parent will make for their newborn babies is a name choice – and while some opt to use a family name, or a sentimental memory associated with a person others opt to use a name for the greater good.
And a Dubai Policeman did just that.
Abdul Rahman Taher Ahmad decided to name his daughter “Emarat,” after she was born last week at the Canadian Specialist Hospital in Dubai.
Emarat is a third generation member of the Taher Ahmad family and the father could not be more proud.
The name, when translated, means Emirates and is said to stand for the 7 emirates of the United Arab Emirates.
And the reason behind the name choice was inspired by the Year of Zayed and is done in honour of the UAE. And it was because his family service to the Dubai Police for over 40 years.
He also added that his family will continue to instil the values of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
“It was the least I could do to show my gratitude,” said Abdul Rahman to show his praise to the country that gave him an education, a livelihood and a family.
2018 has been regarded as the Year of Zayed, in which the United Arab Emirates celebrates the 100th birthday of the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
And Emarat couldn’t have been born at a greater time for the UAE.
