In addition to sushi, caffeine, and alcohol, you can also say goodbye to carbs when you are TTC.
Yes, it breaks our hearts to tell you, but if you want to maximise your chances to have a baby you're going to have to give up pizzas, pastas and...BREAD!
According to recent findings by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Geneva, a low-carb diet can almost double women’s chances of pregnancy. They explained that a high-carb diet may damage sperm cells or even affect a woman's egg quality. The experts even believe that a high-carb diet may make a woman's womb less receptive to implantation.
Speaking to the Daily Mail Dr Gillian Lockwood, of the Midland Fertility Clinic in Tamworth, Staffordshire, said, "I tell my patients that if they are going to have toast for breakfast, then that is their carbs for the day. They cannot then have a sandwich for lunch and pasta for dinner."
If you are one of those people who cannot live without carbs you might want to look into making small changes like having brown rice instead of white rice, wholemeal bread instead of white bread and so on.
If you thought pregnancy was the hardest part...think again!
