How To Keep Your Pregnancy A Secret When You Have Morning Sickness

Many women prefer to keep their pregnancy a secret until they reach the 3-month-mark. This can often be difficult to do because of a little devil we call morning sickness - a pregnancy symptom that is the most persistent in the first trimester.

Here's how you can keep your pregnancy a secret when you have severe morning sickness.

1. Be prepared

Have a small case with you that contains mints, mouthwash, plastic bags etc. so that you are always prepared!

2. Make yourself unavailable

Do you really want to go to a party where you spend 3 hours being sick and explaining to people that you are sick? We thought so.

Now, we are not telling you to hibernate for three months, but if you can skip an event then do it!

3. Two words: stomach flu

Ride the 'stomach flu' wave for as long as you can. No one is going to question it. Morning sickness gets better as you go further along in your pregnancy, plus by then the cat will already be out of the bag!

4. Try to look better than you feel

Sometimes looking sick and tired day after day is a dead giveaway that a woman is a mommy to be. If you have the energy, try and put some blush/bronzer and focus on looking more put-together.

Apart from convincing others that you are not going through morning sickness, you might end up feeling better too cause you know...you look good, you feel good.

5. Have an ally

This is especially helpful for hiding your pregnancy at work. If there is a co-worker that you implicitly trust, make them an ally. They can help you when you're going through a rough time and distract other people.
