Afternoon,

DD has now grasp peeing am now trying to get her to do the same for #2...She can hold out all day until the pull ups go on at night then she do a #2...Help and advice is appreciated...

I used bribery (no nice way to say it), she wanted a doll from Pottery Barn and she was told if she did no 2 on the toilet/potty for 3 days in a row she would get dolly. The first 2 days were heartbreaking as she would come to me and say 'no dolly today' but we never made her feel bad/guilty. On the 3rd day we had success, and the following 2 days. She got her dolly and only does no 2's in the toilet/potty now. Been about 6 weeks so quietly confident she has mastered this. <em>edited by MirdifIngrid on 05/10/2011</em>

Ehhh, I would stop pushing it. Everytime she asks to poo, put a nappy - not a pull-up on. In fact, get rid of the pull ups all together - because babies wear nappies and big girls pee pee and poo poo in the potty. Not the pull ups which are in between. Then gently remind her that big girls put their poo poo in the potty whenever you change her nappy. Yeah, I agree. I had a challenging time with DD too (she would NEVER get to the loo on time for #2s!) and in the end had to resort to good old bribery/ humiliation/ peer pressure... whatever you want to call it. Tried the star charts, presents, treats, punishment, walking around in dirty underwear... but no, what cracked it in the end was just her desperately wanting to be a Big Girl and I turned round and said "well, big girls don't do poos in their knickers. Babies do that - are you a baby? Do I have to put you back in a nappy?!" Cue tears and pleas of "no, mummy, please not nappies" I'm a Big Girl!" Prove it then. I also tried pull-ups and DD, clever pickle that she was, totally regressed... when I asked her why she was doing wee in her "special knickers", she just turned round and told me "they're not knickers mummy, they're nappies". Well, that is true, after all. After that, we went cold turkey, just in cloth knickers and resigned to doing a lot of washing. <em>edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 04/10/2011</em>

Hi mums out there Need HELP! Digging out my old post..Update on DD. The pooing not happening she freaks out when she approach the potty/toilet and refuses to sit in it.Holds it all in until she screams out for her pullups!! arghhh Whenever we out shopping and sees something she likes I went my way to buy it and kept it when she eventually does the poo in the toilet ....but no lil miss is clever ..she says she doesnt wants her treats blah blah blah arghhhhh Please! am so fustrated I long for the day she totally out of pull ups and not having to wear them at night (thats another thing getting her to be dry at night) Ive explained to her why dont you sit in the potty/toilet with your pull ups (so she actually knows that the smelly thing goes down the loo) but no she refuses... She soon to be 4 yr old!! She wees in the toilet ok also when we out at the malls and sometimes I have to ask her in case she has a accident but she tells me when she has a full bladder and am literally having to drag her quick to the toilet OMG! Am I missing something here am I going about it the wrong way... I dont know what else to do... :(((

He is nearly 3. Tried rewards (sweets, playdates,...), but nothing seems to be working so far. Will try to be patient, but it seems that I will need to send our persian carpets to cleaners v soon :) thanks <em>edited by dramaqn on 29/05/2011</em>

How old is he? Have u tried rewards/ sticker chart etc Maybe his scared of it. I wouldnt make a big deal and just keep waiting and encouraging he will do it in his own time when his ready. I know it took longer for my eldest to gasp the poo technique lol good luck

Sorry to hijack, but we also have a bit of problem with #2. DS is more or less using toilet for peeing, but I don't know what to do with #2. I try to keep an eye on him to put him on toilet in right time, but he refuses. Then he goes off and does it after sometime in his shorts. Tired of cleaning him, pants, floors, carpets... :( Any suggestions?
