Hi Kiwispiers,
Iv been reading up on the advice you have been alot of EWs here, and I think its great that your helping so many clueless fist time mums. Can you please help me out with a small dilemma I'm facing atm.
I am due by the end November and plan to fly back home for delivery. I though it best to get all the shopping done with before I leave. So just need a bit of advice regarding EBF.
Im considering buying the Madela Manual Pump, however Im not sure if that's best choice or should just rather go for the electric pump?I might add that I do not work, and just want to pump and save mainly for night time feeds, when I am in out and about or in a public place where I can not breast feed. Will the manual pump be just enough for this purpose?
How long can the milk be stored for at room temperature as well as normal fridge temperature. Also would I need a bottle warmer for it to warm it before giving it to the baby since it will be quite cold in December.
Will it be okay to pump from one breast, which the baby is feeding from the other so I can save it for a night time feed? (I guess that will probably depend on the milk supply???)
Should I be packing formula milk from here? (just incase my milk supply is not enough?) Or is it okay to start with with formula brand back home, and then change it later incase I do not find the same brand here once I come back after the delivery.
Sorry if the questions sound a bit daft, Just don't know where else to go with all these first time mommy questions. :)
