Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii EW ladieeeeees :D (and the odd gents)

I am quite bored - just woke up and decided to share last night with all u chicas! Had brekkie with BFF at limetree OMG the BEST pancakes i have EVER had in my whole life!!!! My friend knows the manager so we got some on a weekday which is usuaully unheard of! So light and buttery but amazing all in one! We then headed over to Nstyle Nail Lounge in Dubai Marina Mall which if anyone is interested to know has become me fav mall in Dubai! very cosy! We had a good mani n paid half each thanks to our trusty entertainer voucher! yay yay! We then felt a little peckish and headed over to noodle factory!! PAD THAI noodles - AMAZING! that's all i have to say yuuum BUT ask for it with chicken and not prawns - i couldn't eat it when i ordered it with seafood - way too fishy! and sheshwan chicken was amazing tooooo!!! with some steamed rice and spring rolls my Gosh!! It was to die for I am nicely craving it now thanks to writing this post damn! Got the chicken taken off the bill too using another voucher :D yuuuuuuuum! I love the casual weekdays in Dubai! Love love! Just thought I would share! Does anyone have any cute casual days they would like to share or am I the only freak of nature who does these?

xxx

Have always loved Carluccio's in the UK and at Dxb Mall but ate at their Mirdiff CC branch recently and it was vile. Gnocchi had a wierd yet familiar taste and as I got the end realised it was made from packet mashed potato....horrible. Went again not long after as invited by friends, had a terrible breakfast - we all did - and the breakfast bread basket was 2 slices of brown and 2 slices of white bread, nothing like the selection they have always offered. Utter **** and I am sure Mr Carluccio would be appalled. Not even going to bother trying the Dxb Mall one again as sick of wasting money.

Yehhhhhh!!! You aren't going mad!!! I thought it was too but I just checked and it's not! :( Oh well that will probably save me from a disaster meal anyway given the feedback from Carluccios we have had on this thread!

I can't find Carlucio's in the 2011 enteratiner book this year? Am I going mad? I noticed that Baker and Spice and Scoozi are not in the family book either, Belgian Beer cafe And Lattitude were missing too from the fine dining. Am very dissapointed!

thanks giggles! I think Carluccios is OK, esp compared to the other local italians in the marina/jbr area. I quite like their seafood or vongole pasta and also their veggie antipasto plate. I tried Napoletana and the other one near Butcher shop on the Walk and they were disgusting!! Recently also tried Urbano on the other side of the bridge at Souk Al Bahar from Carluccios and Dubai Mall and that was also very good!

Oh that sounds terrible Rudolph! Poor you! The one thing I hate is paying for food that I do not enjoy! Although i have heard their lasagna and risotto is nice! Hmm I am not sure! Maybe I will just give it one last change this weekend and go use the voucher and if it fails to impress I will EX the place for good.

I would agree about Carluccio's. I do not find the food to be anything special and the prices are astronomical. :(

Abbyboot - I used to love Carluccio's Dubai Mall, it was my favourite place. Sadly, the last couple of times we went neither the quality of the food nor staff were as it used to be! Most recently, one of the assistant manager's managed to tip a pizza over the intended customer, it slid across the deck and ended up on the floor beside me! They must be the ONLY Italian restaurant which charges for a bread tin/basket. We felt royally ripped off and that was USING an Entertainer voucher. Decided there wouldn't be a next time as the fast food court outlets across from Carluccio's are far better value.:(

What's good to eat at Carluccios? I was going to go there as I had a voucher for it but in the end noodle factory won! Although once i had their potatoe and Gorgonzola gnocchi and hated it :)

Sounds like my kind of day! I totally agree about Dubai Marina Mall and it's never busy! Unfortunately I work every weekday unless i'm sick or abroad so can't share a similar experience!
