There is a product available from supermarkets and chemists to rid of stained nails. It's in the nail section where they sell the Scholls Party Feet products. I can't remember the exact name of it but it works. It's a double ended tube with a 3 step process and is simple to use. The final step is a clear lacquer which gives nails a lovely shine. I think that's the thing I used. The one I used was by Scholl and really worked.

When my hands are looking/feeling tired I give them a scrub with olive oil and sugar before going to bed. It works beautifully. Maybe try it a few nights in a row. And you could wear some gloves too if u like, keep them moist. do you wash them after u rub it in? or u just sleep with the olive+sugar scrub on? Sorry, I should have been more clear. You rince them Clean and then pat dry.

I also use sugar and olive oil with one drop of either essential lemon oil or lavander oil - I massage the mixture into my hands and feet and the rinse and massage some nice cream in. For yellow nails - soak nails in lemon juice and leave on for as long as possible - works a treat!

I had a similar problem till a pharmacist suggested a cream for hands called 'Eucerin'. She vouched for it and I thought lets give it a try. It worked wonders. Picked mine from Festival city on the ground floor opp Costas. Am sure you would find this brand anywhere else as well. As for the stained nails, my toe nails had the same problem. There really is no alternative than stopping painting them for a long while. Took me close to 2 years to grow them out from the base. No more dark colors for me now.

My hands are fine (aged 39 & 3 quarters), but my nails are stained!! Too much red nail varnish stains them to the point that actually embarresses me to take them to a nail bar ...............add cooking with turmeric into the mix & my nails are fit for no one other than myself to fix .................. I am literally too ashamed to take my talons to a nail bar .......... (sorry, pre edit I can not spell embarress!! - well i could if I googled it but its late) x

you can try a peel on them?alpha hydroxy? do this at night though, then make sure you wash off THOROUGHLY or else you risk skin damage if you drive/go in the sun! Great trick is to apply lanolin/shea butter/vaseline, then sleep with cotton gloves on! Very romantic and shades of Michael Jackson :), but effective!!
