I recently bought a machine from Jumbo electronics. It's a SONY DVDirect you just plug your camcorder into the machine and it copies onto a disc for you.(You can use it with camcorder, VCR and digital cameras) Well worth the money.
Can i know how much did u pay for it please??And the name of it?? I went to Jumbo to ask about something like this and they told me that they dont have any appliance that does this kind of job...

I just plug my av cables from my old vhs player into my dvd recorder and life is sweet.
That what I would of done if I didnt give away my old VHS player? Knew it would come in handy?
And that's exactly the reason I bought the converter from Amazon! I plug one end of the converter into the video player, the other into the PC, fire up the editing software, switch on the converter, press 'play' and away we go.
As you know the conversion is done in real time, a 3 hour tape takes 3 hours to convert, there's no fast forward so I guess that's why the commercial places charge so much.
