This thread raises some interesting questions. 1. What is the definition of a small school in Dubai? Is it the number of classes in a year or the total number of children in a school? In the UK a small primary school has less than 175 pupils in it. A middle sized primary school has between 176 and 350 pupils and a large primary has 350 pupils plus. 2. What makes a school good? Is there a list of essentials that can't be ignored? 3. How does the size of the school affect its performance? Are there thresholds, at both upper and lower levels which should inform parent choice?

I thought you meant you wanted a small school like Star Mirdif, but also good (meaning Star is not good!) Other than a couple of smallish issues at the beginning of the school year we are pretty happy with Star Mirdif. (if this helps)

smaller in scale meaning not a big big school. BUt good. presently, my kids are in a small scale school that is good. in order for you to get the background of what I meant. they are in star al twar. I prefer the same kind of small school, if there is in mirdif. if none. then Ill be happy to continue to take them to al twar star.

Mine is in star international in mirdiff, its still relatively new but he loves it so we are very happy. Its British curriculum so he went in at the same stage. The teachers and staff are lovely. We live on arabian ranches and its a bit of a drive but i wouldnt swap his school now even if i could. Hope this helps x

There is uptown Primary, Royal Dubai and Star, BC & IB. Then there is the Mizhar school for boys and girls (seperate) American Curric and schools in the Festival city area not far from Mirdiff.
