Why iron? Put it in the dryer and straight back on the bed!! What? It would come out all creased to heck. Put one piece at a time in the dryer. The Duvet alone is ENORMOUS (225x225). I have exactly the same size duvet - I wash it myself and then send it out for ironing, One thing I have decided though is when I need new bedding and / or I have to iron them myself I will be throwing away the duvets and replacing them with blankets!

Where do you buy your bedding? I miss having fitted sheets, we have flat ones and they never seem to stay tucked under. Have trouble finding nice duvet covers for supersize beds as well. We have a rather large bed and to fit our duvet (260x260) we went to King Koil in the Green Community, they also have a store on SZD. We buy all out sheets, fitted and flat from there as we couldnt find them anywhere else HTH edited by Shinynewpony on 24/03/2011

Hmm, might be tempted to send Large Duvet out for ironing, that is unless i can teach the cats to use an iron. That's what I do. You taught your cat how to iron? Your skills are never ending!

Our local charges AED 4 for a duvet cover (iron only) the same size as yours. It takes me 20 mins to do a duvet cover and I think that my time's worth more than AED 12 an hour!

Why iron? Put it in the dryer and straight back on the bed!! Actually this is a very good option! The problem with drying it and putting it straight back on the bed is that you really have to get the technique right, you can't dry it till its bone dry as then it will be creasy, you have to dry it so its dry but moist enough to not have wrinkles when putting it on the bed, and it will completely dry out in a few minutes after putting it on the bed... Although, when I was maidless I just sent the sheets off with an ironing company FAR easier :)

I find that if you fold the wet sheets really carefully, just in half and then in half again, and put them out to dry, and then turn them so it dries evenly, then they don't need to be ironed. But you will definitely need a hand folding them!! Its a trick my maid taught me!

The Duvet alone is ENORMOUS (225x225).yeah, now I remember why we stopped using duvets and duvet covers. now we just have a random layering of 4 diff cotton blankets to cover massive bed :)

I wash my sheets and duvet covers then send them to the cleaners for ironing. i THINK I pay 14dhm for 1 or 2 duvet covers and 1 or 2 sheets ...I use the little guy around the corner.

Get used to un ironed bedding maybe? We never had the luxury of having ironed bedding until we had a maid. When we are maidless again, we'll just have to be grateful for clean/washed bedding which is changed...er...ummm....once a week. Or maybe there was a conspiracy between the bedding and ironing board makers to make a job creation scheme for homehelps? With unintended consequences. edited by Sugarbeach on 23/03/2011

Really though who designed these darn things? I need a 2.5 meter ironing board! It just goes on and on and on, then you put it on the bed all proud and the cats and DH mess it all up, putting creases back in it!!!!
