Wonder if the Mother puts her baby to sleep on the floor everyday just to get a shot? Wierd.... Hope the baby has an opportunity to sleep in his bed. edited by SwissGirl on 06/04/2011

I just saw he slide show and then watched the interview the artist had done with ABC news. It seems to me that she had no intention of promoting herself when she started taking the pictures . And I find her work very creative to be honest. I dont have kids and I dont know if I would feel the same way about the photos if I did ....For now , I like them very much

Not really my cup of tea but i can appreciate what the mum was doing & enjoying in her spare time. Didn't look like the baby was too "bothered" It looks like she was in normal clothing/sleepsuits when asleep & the mum just created a background around her. I assumed it was photo-shopped.

My question is how did she find the time and inclination????!!! The first few months after DD was born, I'd pass out the min she did if i wasn't sterilizing, pumping etc! If I had taken those pics you'd have seen me passed out next to the baby :)

Actually, the alleged reasons behind the decision of the Finnish artist to create the baby-dream-photograph sequence -- and then post it on youtube -- niggle with me a bit, moo moo. ;) The artist may well have been on maternity leave -- and yes, of course her creative juices aren't going to instantly dry up because she's on leave or has 'baby brain' -- but to create this slideshow and then share it with the world smacks of nothing less than rabid self-promotion. I can leave behind the icky feeling I get from viewing a baby in the set-up photographs, but I can't get away from the sense that these images aren't really about baby and her dreamworld but more about making sure her mum's career stays on song while she's on the 'mommy track'. ;) Bit cerebral a view, probably, but hey ... that's how I get after 11pm! :D . edited by WaxMuch on 05/04/2011 OK sensible head off now! Well said WM!

I still don't get how the baby didn't wake up? My baby is an awesome sleeper, but to fiddle around doing that kind of stuff while she was asleep, no doubt about it, she would have woken up. The artist set everything up in advance, including dressing the child. Then it's merely a matter of dumping, I mean, [i'>placing[/i'> the kid in the scenario and snapping away. Weird. Sorry. :) ETA: I think the Anne Geddes stuff is loony tunes as well though so I'm not the target audience obviously. :D What?!!!! So the baby didn't fall asleep naturally with an umbrella in its hand?!!!! . edited by WaxMuch on 05/04/2011 ;)
