Newbie mom here wants to know if I can get away with using either the Maclaren Triumph or Quest as our travel stroller? Problem is DD will be 2-2.5mos old the first time we use it and both are recommended from 3mos.

If it helps...at 4 weeks, shes about 65th percentile in weight and 85th in height.

Seems they each have 5 point harnesses and fully recline (from what I can tell online - where I'll buy without trying)... would DD be ok in one of these?

The XLR and Techno XT are nice...but perhaps a little much as this is just for occasional use when traveling.

Thoughts ladies?? TIA :)

Babyshop is out of stock of Maclarens! Called MOE, DM and Ibn! Does anywhere else sell them? So, to the ladies who have a Triumph or Quest....even without the full recline - is the lowest recline position enough for a 2.5month old? edited by DC2DXB on 14/04/2011 edited by DC2DXB on 14/04/2011 If you are going to be using it for travelling and not have your LO in it for long periods and he will only be having a few naps in it, i don't see why not. The main reason for a full recline (I understand) is due to the fact that it's recommended young babies need to lay flat due to their developing, soft bones (spine). Honestly though, I have seen so many people keep their babies in car chairs for extended periods and this is supposed to be a real No-no. Not suggesting you ignore the reccommendations because others are of course. But I'd go for it if I was you. Or look on Dubizzle for a second hand Xlr or Techno XL. They're dead easy to clean and you could just buy the new padding bit to fit with it if that would make you feel happier ;-)

Sorry to hijack but we are looking for a stroller to travel with as well and were thinking of the Maclaren. But DD is 5 and a half months old. In that case do you think it is ok to use one of the strollers that does not recline 100%? Which one would you recommend and how much does it cost here?

Kermi, how much did you get the techno xlr? What colors did they have? I paid 1095 dhs incl. rain cover and footmuff. If I would have made my mind up a few days earlier during the babyshop sales, it would have been 875. Colour range was limited, mine is dark blue. Ask them to call other branches if you're after a certain colour.

From what I found out, both don't recline fully. The back rest is reclinable, but not to a fully flat position. I bought the techno xlr at the end, and it reclines 100%. Check babyshop prices, they are cheaper and that's from where I got one. If you want a fully reclinable but cheaper option, check the chicco liteway. Goodbaby Bur Dubai was selling the standard one for less than 500 dhs.

I'm also thinking of buying another stroller and looking at all the Maclaren strollers. Here's what I know the triumph does not recline fully. It is suitable from 3 months so I think you should be okay. I believe this is the same for the Quest, but I read somewhere that the Quest reclines more. The only difference is the Quest has an adjustable footrest. I would go to the store that have both and test them and see what you feel comfortable with.
