Hey all , need some help , am in my 9th week almost and was just wondering whether all this heaviness and blaoting i am having is a pregnancy sign or actually because of the fact that i am on Duphaston (dont ask me why i have no clue, i do have PCOS by the way which could be a reason).
Please help , what do u think and let me know cos if its the Duphaston maybe i can ask the doc to take me off it.

Enigma - to be honest i wasnt on duphastone for my first, bloated out terribly in the first trimester anyways. Put on like 8kgs within the first 12 weeks and yes i was still throwing up so was confused. Was on Duphastone with my second and the same thing happened. I think its just some women bloat out alot at the start. But on the plus side i didnt put on any in the last trimester and bub just kept growing so your body might be the same. best of luckX

I also had PCOS but wasnt treated for it. Instead, we had an IVF with Dr. Fakhik clinic in Jumeriah. I am still seeing Dr. Fatin who is another OBYGN there. She's awesome but delivers at Medcare (note, I dont know if she has office hours there). I am located in Oud metha. I have American, City and Rashid all in minutes proximity, so thats why the delimma. Anyhow, I have to go see her next week. Would you like me to get a recommendation? I wont ask your docs name, I'll just get two just in case. About the bloat, I know we are still too early but I look at it as a glimpse of what's to come. Check out Destination Materinity. They supposedly have those bella bands that make this transition phase really easy. Last night, I had to go out to dinner and I dont have one yet, so I just took a scrunchi and looped it in my button hole and then around the button. Wore a shirt over top and it looked chic! Try it out. :) Happy shopping!

Hey Enigma! I'm also in my 9th week and I'm not taking Duphaston. Instead I'm on Estrogen tabs, progesterone tabs, and that novidoxine to quell my nausea. I cant tell anymore if I'm bloated or if I am just eating too much, but none of my pants fit anymore. As I read, thats quite common and then it just continues as your little bean moves out of your pelvic region. Anyhow, try this, realize it will only get bigger, eat less veggies that cause gas and relax. That's all I'm doing ;)!! But hey, nice to hear some one is around the same time as me. What's your due date? Mine is Dec. 9th. Wishing you happiness and healthiness! Hey DC im due on December 6th , thats kool our due dates are so close. Well actually as i said maybe she gave it to me since i have PCOS and would require them. By the way what doc are you showing and are you happy with her. I am at Medcare and not too happy. I am also constantly bloated and i think my stomach has grown quite a bit which feels more like the bloat affect and not the baby as were still to early to be showing.

it's pretty normal, but I would suggest that if you don't know why you're on a hormone supplement, then inform yourself and speak to your doctor about it! It's a very common thing to do in the States but unheard of in the UK (which imo is far more progressive regarding pregnancy and childbirth)

I was not on Duphaston, but I do remember that I was the world's most unattractive pregnant woman in my first tri. I was beyond bloated, my hair was stringy and my skin looked pale and yucky. Then after 12 weeks, I magically transformed into super gorgeous (in my opinion ofcourse) until DD came, then I looked (and still do) look like a fat wreck! :D
