Thankyou for the advice ladies, i omitted to mention the hospital name as not to scare those opting for this paticular hospital as its been around a long time and has a good reputation. My friend will make sure the doctor responsible will take account for their actions and if not then i will for sure let you all know the hospital and the doctors name. Thanks again.

She needs to get hold of a lawyer that deals with medical issues, she can try contacting her insurance company to see if they have anyone that they recommend. She should also contact DHA and the MOH to see what they say and what she needs to do to investigate futher. Unfortunately it is a risk with epidural and the disclaimer may hold. Good luck to your friend and hope she recovers soon.

Ladies my friend delivered safely a baby boy a few weeks ago after 28hours in labour. At hours 22 she asked for an epidural. The needle was pushed too far into her spinal cord so that it punctured and she ended up unable to even move her eyebrows, when she started vomitting she was choking as she had no control over her neck muscles. The epidural was "fixed" by another doctor and eventually turned off so she could deliver naturally. The next day she was unable to even lift herhead from her pillow as they hadn'y realised their mistake and my friend was in agony.Eventually theyrealised the mistake and my friend was given very strong drugs to help with the pain. During this time her nipples have started to bleed from mislatching the baby and there is no lactation consultant available as all their midwives are fully trained, although my friend says no one showed her when she asked and she was in not fit state to seek further assistance. Before being discharged the legal team came to visit and said she had signed a disclaimer so the hospital was at no fault. She still has only part feeling in her legs. Does she have any recourse? TIA
