Hey sherry, would you mind sharing where you rented the hospital grade pump from and how much this was? (if you dont mind). Was it heavy or fairly portable? Ugh, the thought of crouching in the ladies loo attached to a milking machine just totally puts me off? I rented it from a lady called suzie and she cahrges 2k deposit which is refundable and the rent is 60 dhs per week which you can pay her right at the end when you return the pump. She is located in jumeirah and her number is zero five zero six five eight eight nine zero five. I used to carry it in a small ruck sack on my shoulders :-) colleagues ofcourse always wondered what i was carrying . Its fairly easy to carry around and i even took it with me to the malls and expressed in mothercare room :-) i never expressed in the ladies loo either. It simply puts me off as well. At work i had my office so it was easy plus home being close by helped heaps as well. My LO completes one month soon (how fast does time fly!). I decided that I would like to breastfeed him for at least a year. I go back to work when he completes 3 months. I recently started expressing and introduced him to the bottle this past week. But every time i have to express, i start to panic because i worry if I'll be able express enough and that I may not be able to keep up to it for a year. For all of you who returned to work, and continued to breastfeed your children, can you please tell me how you all managed? Did you girls have a schedule on how often you expressed? Hi ladylee I breast fed my lo and also expressed. After 2 months i returned back to work. Now in the beginning when i was expressing it was not enough milk but after 1 month the milk increased. I had bought avent breast pump which was not good and eventually i rented hosptal grade rent pump which was brilliant. With avent it took me 1 hour and i was able to express only 80 ml but with hospital pump it went upto 300 ml and sometimes even more in the morning and during the day i expressed 150ml to 200ml per feed. Initially i pumped every 2 hours and after 2 months it was only after every 3 hours. So 5 times a day and sometimes 6. I dint express much at night to be honest but its recommended to express or breast feed if you can. Remember the more you pump or breast feed the more your milk supply will go up. I also took fenugreek capsules to increase my milk supply. I would highly recommend you to check kelly mom website which talks about how to increase milk supply and what foods to avoid such as parsley which can kill the milk supply. You are entitled to 1 hour break in addition to your lunch break of 1 hour. I used to breast feed lo in the morning before going to work and for lunch break i came back as well as my workwas very close by. During my work i also expressed twice a day as it took only 10 min to express milk. During my 2nd month i started freezing a bit of milk every morning and slowly it increased. But it was all a waste as it all got spoilt for me after 3 months. This was a weeks milk so i was very sad. I quit work after 2 months so i could breast feed only but it was to late as lo was used to the bottle and refused the breast. So i continued expressing and after 6 months stopped. Hope this helps
