Thanks for the useful information ladies :) I had the rainforest play gym and she used that for only around 2 months i think, after which she started crawling. I will be sure to check out the Dwinguler and the interlocking play mats :)

We also have the largest size Dwinguler mat and love it!! It covers a massive space, it's great for nappy free days and sick days and is soft enough to prevent injuries but hard enough for learning to crawl. It looks pretty in the play area and will soon become educational as ours has the alphabet on one side and a big colourful picture on the other. Quite expensive but only comparable to a large rug or carpet.

the bigger the better. :) we bought the biggest one from dwinguler which is around 7.5ft by 4.5ft when dd was around 6 months, we used to put the mat in the living room with her toys - that usually keeps her occupied most of the time instead of asking to be carried. at 8 months when she started standing up, we converted one room as playroom. we put interlocking playmats for the entire room then put the dwinguler mat at the center. the interlocking playmats available at baby shop and toys r us are also good but not as padded as the dwinguler but the advantage is that you can experiment by starting with a few mats and buy add'l ones if your baby needs more play area ( and its less expensive than the dwinguler). hope this helps.

do you mean like a play-gym or do you mean the interlocking foam mats people cover large areas of flooring with? If you mean the first, I like the fisher-price rainforest gym, its very easy to wash vs something padded (just put a foam mat underneath), but to be honest if she is crawling then she is a bit old for a play-gym. If you mean the interlocking mats then we used large ones from toys'r'us, but unless you combine with playpen she will end up on the tiles anyway. You don't want anything too soft when they are crawling, they need stability. Even just a large soft rug would be fine.

Hello everyone, My daughter is 7 months now and being very active crawling and also turning over on both sides. I usually put her on my bed as its the safest place so far for her to move around, but i am planning on buying a well padded play mat that i can put on the floor as it will give her alot more room for moving around. Can anyone please suggest some good play mats ? i'm looking for somethign well padded - colourful - easy to clean. Thanks :)
