Hi
This has been a problem for me ever since i started formula for my daughter.
I started using the pigeon baby bottle cleaner and was not too happy with the strong smell on the teets etc, then a friend of mine recommended NUK baby bottle cleaner, although its soapy and doesnt leave behind a smell on the bottle/teet, it is however always out of stock!! the only two places i used to buy it was either babyshop or a pharmacy. Currently though its out of stock wherever i check.
I just need to know what other mum's out there are using to clean their babies feeding bottles. Thanks

I use fairy and there's no smell once I sterilize, I truly believe these special baby bottle cleaners are just one more way for the industry to make money from well intended mothers. Unless there is a more natural product out there, bottle cleaner or fairy I see no reason why the bottle cleaner is healthier for the baby. Obviously I wouldn't leave bottles soaking in it, or use large quantities when washing, as residue can build up, but that's the case with any cleaner.

I've been using pigeon for 4 month now because i also don't know what else to use. Once i sterilize the bottles there is no more smell. I wouldn't recommend fairy though

I scrub the bottles in hot water and fairy liquid with the brush to get rid of the milk residue ,then put them in a big tupawear of Milton for 15 mins. I have also never heard of the bottle cleaners..i am sure fairy liquid is just as good! Mb xx edited by Mummabear on 06/02/2013

Just wash it in regular soap or put in a dishwasher, and then sterilize in boiling water for few minutes. We had to buy a new dishwasher recently and this comes even with sterilizing function and UV rays, so when bubba #3 comes it will be easier.

I just use the normal fairy i use for the dishes, rinse well and then sterilize...is there a particular reason why you use special bottle cleaners? To be honest i never even knew they existed!

Don't have the baby yet, but 9 nieces and nephews: my siblings have all washed the bottles with normal (unperfumed) dishwashing soap and then boiled the bottles 2-3 minutes in normal water.
