My LO is 3 months old and is FF. I am not on a strict schedule but she has fallen into a 3 hour feeding routine herself. However, I cannot help but wonder if she gets thirsty in between feeds especially for ex if we have been out for a walk etc.,
Do you give your baby water? Ever very small amounts?

Thoughts please?

i tried at 6 months,then 7 and so on...now finally at 11 months he has started drinking water from a sipper 4-5 times a day. he takes about less then 1 cup of water

My son is 12 weeks and has been having sips of water between feeds for the past few weeks. He is FF and has chosen to feed every 3.5/4 hours but he is on an AR milk that does cause constipation at times so my midwife recommend to give him sips if water in between feeds.

Around when we started solids as well and definitely by 6 mos. Esp around meals or on walks. Eventually she started sleeping with a leak proof sippy cup (and does until now at 2yo) which she drains at during the night. There is always a water bottle within sight, reach of her - when she was younger and now - sometimes taking it umprompted, sometimes after we offered.

My DS is almost 9 months and I have yet to give him water. I probably will start giving it to him once he shows an interest in it, which I assume will be at least after 12 months old.

They don't need it until they start having solids. So, we didn't start giving water until 6 months when my daughter was eating food and needed something to help wash the meal down. Even at this point at 10 months, she only has sips. Probably less than 2oz per day. If your baby was thirsty, she's indicate she wanted a bottle. They need the nutrition AND hydration they get from formula or breastmilk. Giving water at such a young age is just wasting the opportunity to get them what they really need to grow and develop. In other words, there's no need for it.
