With my first baby it is with hindsight that i knew he was coming! My waters broke just a little but it was a week until I went to hospital. He was born the next day but was early at 36 weeks. With my second you would have thought I would know but...nothing at all until just before hand. waters went pop at 11pm and he was born at 2am. 3 hours notice.

I don’t remember any urge to clean or tidy up, however, after weeks of worrying and fretting I was suddenly very calm on the day.

I'm not alone there.....have my sister and my mum.....but still not the same as having dear hubby. Heres to hoping baby decides to stay in till his dad arrives. Fingers crossed!

Not for me either! I went into "clucky hen" mode as my DH put it, spending ages in baby's room folding clothes and nappies and constantly tidying and rearranging the bedding in the Moses basket!! Thought that was it but had to be induced 10 days later with DD. 3 years later, I was 4 days late with DS but my waters broke in my parents house all over their lovely leather suite!!! First babies are usually in no hurry but as someone else said, maybe have a close friend or doula on standby? Best of luck! :)

If the baby decides to come early you will probably have some extra time, as they will try to keep baby in until you reach full term, and hubby can get on a flight straight away!! Do you have a friend or a doula you could use as back up, for your peace of mind?

7 hours direct flight! only thing stressing me about having the baby away is hubby not being able to make it on time just incase the baby decided to come early....esp. with me being a FTM. I can't imagine having the baby without him. :(

nope, not even a niggle. My baby came one day after her due date, I had so much to do and just got it all finished on her due day and said "ok baby, you can come now" and 5am the next morning things started happening. How long is the flight? I did have at least 12 hours from when my contractions started (enough time to go out and about for the day, supermarket etc) until I called my husband at work and told him to come home "soonish".

I went into crazy OCD cleaning mode and had to have the house looking perfect! Was put on bedrest and kept on sneaking off to tidy/clean. Then went mad looking for all the paperwork for Flynn's birth certificate. Felt really calm on the day.

My first was born 7 weeks early, the second 3 months early and both times I went into a house cleaning frenzy the day before!
