Ladies,
I am traveling next month with my 6.5 month old.
I want to carry a mosquito repellent but don't know which one to pick up. I would like to avoid the spray ons as they might harm his delicate skin.
Are there any alternatives available here?
Where can I find them?
Thanks!

i use "moustidose" for travelling. it does not have DEET and is very good. i bought that from aster pharmacy.also you can rub little citronella oil on the clothes. you can find the good one in organics cafe. we also use citronella oil when out for travelling...its very good.

There is a lot of differing information about the use of DEET on children and babies. Here is one site I quickly googled which you might find of some use. http://www.whattoexpect.com/first-year/ask-heidi/insect-repellent.aspx# Personally I am a little scared about using DEET on my baby and 3 year old. Even if you do use one with a small percentage of DEET a lot of the resources on the Internet state to only apply it to a baby once per day so the DEET does not build up in their system. I remember taking my daughter to Bali as a baby and I used a completely natural one (sparingly) mixed with baby oil and it was very effective. I am sure you will do your own research and decide whats right for your baby but I found it a bit of a worry with my kids and just thought I should mention it as some people don't realise that repellents use such harsh ingredients. Enjoy your holiday ;)

The wipes are great or you can spray in your hand and wipe on them it doesnt have to be deet free but it needs to be less than 10% I think I can't remember the exact number but it needs to be less than a certain percent... You could probably google it. Also different percentages last different lengths of time so it's good not to over do it and keep re applying if it has been "x" number of hours.

You will need to find one that doesn't contain DEET, I would try a health food store or something like that who will have a repellent made with natural ingredients that won't be harmful to your baby ;)
