Have you read "Curly Girl: The Handbook"? You can get it as an ebook off Amazon as well (see link below). Lots of great tips and advice from a curly hair stylist specialist. Also, try researching some of the videos on Youtube related to the "natural hair" movement. They're primarily for those with tightly curled and coily/kinky hair, but the general information is good for everyone with curls. Some main tips: avoid most shampoos because of their highly drying ingredients. Most curly hair gets frizzy because it's not moisturized anywhere near enough. Consider shampooing with conditioner instead (called the "no-poo" method). Also deep conditioning and oil treatments, avoiding heat, detangling with your fingers instead of a comb or brush, following the LCO or LOC method (liquid/water, cream, oil) for moisturizing and sealing in your moisture, sleeping with a satin/silk head wrap or on satin pillowcases, etc, etc. Hope this helps. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Curly-Girl-Enhanced-Ebook-Handbook-ebook/dp/B003YL4KS0/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=8-1&qid=1427134629) This ^^^ I use the CG method and it has really helped my hair. Some nice products I have found here: Boots Derma Gentle Shampoo (sulfate free) Loreal total repair masque and conditioner (red and white ones) Andalou naturals citrus conditioner - very moisturizing but a bit pricey from life pharmacy which also sells the giovanni products which are nice loreal invisihold extra strength gel I use the loreal or andalou conditioner as a leave in and top it with a lot of the loreal gel and it seems to be doing very well in the dubai weather. I have very dry hair as well. HTH xx

Embrace your curls and dont straighten it with hot appliances. Get Argan oil or Kerastase oil and apply after washing. It will help your curls look shiney and not so frizzy. It also helps if you wrap your hair at night with a silk scarf or use a silk pillow cover. I'm also south african and have lots of curly haired friends ;) edited by Appletiser on 23/03/2015

Scissors! Honestly - I have spent a fortune on my curly hair ( went to Daniel Galvin for years in London) - now I just keep it short, very short - but as it is quite thick it has good "height" - which suits most faces.. Also you can cut it yourself - the curls "hide" any bad cut - or just cut the bad bits off - so liberating!! I actually used to already do that. :P But thing is I've just started working out here now and sadly I just don't have the time for it anymore. :(

Ok so I did find the Redken Curvaceous but its too expensive! And one of my friends has actually tried this and she told me its not really worth that price. Doesn't give good enough results. :/

I use Redken Curvaceous: http://www.redken.com/products/curls/curvaceous I find it doesn't matter which shampoo/conditioner I use - just something that's not drying (try Redken All Soft). But get the Curvaceous in a the pump bottle as it's more liquid than the cream. I usually put a small amount of serum or leave in condition first to get the comb through my hair and then apply the curvaceous lotion. Every morning, just spray with water and the curls will form again. Most of the good salons will carry the Redken brand. I sometimes get it on Amazon and shop and ship. Ooh that actually looks good! Is it reasonable price-wise?

I use FlirtyCurls Scrunching Jelly by Umberto Giannini from Boots. It takes a bit of experimenting to get the amount right for your hair but it's reasonably priced and lasts ages. Also Curl Defining Oil from Toni and Guy is very good. Haven't tried the FlirtyCurls Scrunching Jelly but I have tried the Umberto Giannini Shampoo+Conditioner from Boots. It was no good for my hair and I think it harmed it in the long run. :( But I might give the Curl Defining Oil a try...

Hi CurlyGirl, I have frizzy curly hair myself, and I tried so many products out there that its ridiculous. Now I dont use "curly" products but instead use Herbal Essence conditioner for dry hair and leave it on. It works great, I still have curly hair but at least they not everywhere. This will work if you have soft hair and not super tight curls. Thanks for the suggestion Kruti but it just won't cut it. I'm South African and my hair is super dry with super tight curls. I wasn't kidding when I called em crazy haha.
