I had a partial hysterectomy done laparoscopically byDr Rajesh at DLC Speciality Hospital he was fantastic everything was explained thoroughly and it was covered by my insurance.

I was a complete wreck before the op . I stayed in hospital for 2 days. Recovery was ok , sore for a few days , but to be honest I was ready to drive after a week. Luckily my husband was ion hand to drive me around. Problems afterwards were Thrush after antibiotics and a bladder infection after the catheter ( catheter was horrible ) I think it really depends how the surgeon will do the Hysterectomy. Mine was done laproscopically. So my navel stitches were very uncomfortable . Good luck with your surgery . You will not regret it for a minute. It's a horrible drastic decicion to make, but you will feel so much better afterwards .

Hi Rozi, I had hysterectomy done around Nov time, i was referred to Dr. Rosalie Sant (primavera clinic) by my dr. She is brilliant , she explains everything very well and gives you options what you can do and what you cant. i liked the fact that she took all info and checked almost everything just to make sure what needs to be done. The procedure it self will be done either welcare or american hospital. all the best

Hi Rossi, Wondered if you had ever talked to gynacologist, Dr. Rosalie Sant (primavera clinic). I have only been to her once but based on that visit I thought she was really good. She seemed very progressive and I expect that she would be quite conservative re surgery but can't say for sure as only saw her one time. Ideally you want to get an opinion from a doctor who has a conservative view re surgery and is open to discussing whether there are any other options. Good luck with your opinions. It sounds like you have a bit of time to decide. The key thing from my perspective is that you are comfortable with the recommended medical treatment and you feel it is the best course of action for you. Do what ever you need to do, given time and financial constraints to be comfortable with whatever medical treatment is recommended. I note that there is a website www.wholewoman which talks about issues such as hysterectomies and alternative ways of dealing with some of the issues which are the basis for having a hysterectomy.

I've just had one with Dr Jozsa at Al Zahra. Very easy , no problems. I would recommend this surgeon , as he specialises in laproscopic surgery. Really easy recovery.

Agree with Hope! I've had several friends told they needed a hysterectomy only to be told by another doctor that they are perfectly fine. Don't know your situation at all just wanted to weigh in ...

Hi Rossi 44 - I don't have an answer to your question. However just wanted to make one comment. I don't know anything about your situation and I realise it may be a clear cut situation where surgery is the only option. However, given a recent experience that I had (where I was told that surgery was required)as well as a relative's experience with hysterectomy, just wanted to suggest that if you haven't done so you may want to get a second opinion to see if there is any chance you could avoid surgery.

Dr Liliana Skorski did mine . One night in hospital ( city) then home for a few days rest . Went for coffee and a walk round spinneys during the first week , just took it easy then day 8 took a flight and was fine . Driving after 7 days , just be sure you are comfortable to do an emergency stop . You do need to check with your insurance though as you may not be covered . Three weeks post op went on a golfing holiday was just a little tired thats all

Will check out Dr. Ibrahim. Haven't been to City Hospital but know Mediclinic Welcare very well. I believe they are affiliated.
