This is the first time in a long time that I have come on here and I'm surprised at how quiet it is. There is another group on Facebook called Abu Dhabi Q&A. There are over 22k members so I'm sure you'll get answers on there. Hope you get your answers :)

I've rarely gotten replies on here unfortunately. I've had much more luck on abudhabiwoman (and not always on there either) but usually on the Facebook groups. I've been here for a year now and joined the forums a year before that when my husband came out here a year ahead of us.

Hi Nozzamalozza I am in the same boat as you. I am moving to Abu Dhabi in less than 2 months time and i posted my first post just a few days ago and i haven't had any replies just yet. I totally understand how you are feeling and I too have a million questions but I also don't even know where to ask.. or what questions to even ask!! I know i probably can't help you or know the answers to your questions as I don't live there yet but I would love to support you & catch up with you once in Abu Dhabi ;)

There are lots of people away at the moment. Seriously. It's Ramadan and the start of the 'hotter' weather so many people have headed back to their own countries for long holidays. I'll have a look at your post and see if I can help with anything (if I can find it)!

I agree with you Nooma. that's why i just randomly check this website as i have questions posted here last January when we arrived but nobody answers anything or nobody gives any idea. so i had to answer my questions on my own.. Uncle google is there to give you some idea.. :D i dont think Ramadan is one of the main reason, but anyways lots of people here just don't bother :) Hope you find some answers on the random questions you've asked.. i'll go and check maybe i can help though i have a little knowledge about Abu Dhabi but i get my way around AD. cheers!

Thankyou, I'll have a look on Facebook for info. Haim my original post was titled ' random questions in my head ' thank you for asking. Don't worry about it, they're silly questions anyway. Lol They can't be that silly if you've come on here to ask! like I said, give it a go. But if you ask whether you can cover up, or if you can hold hands, then... Don't! Ha!

As mentioned before, FB is more active than this website. If you search "abudhabiwoman", you will find lots of info on their FB

Well for one thing, it is Ramadan and people are busy living their lives and getting ready to leave for the summer. Sorry but your questions aren't really a priority for people at this time. But also, this board is nearly dead and has been for a while - if you actually lived in Abu Dhabi or watched the board for a while, you would know that. I'd suggest you try Facebook and/or not expect people to answer your questions. Thank you, I am very aware it's Ramadan. Yes, you are right, my questions are not a priority. I only joined the website on the 6th June so I am unaware how dead this forum is but thank you for letting me know. Regards

What questions do you have? While Dubai is a different place to Abu Dhabi, there are similarities between the both as expat life in the UAE can be similar across the board in most cases

I know you must be feeling really excited about your move to Abu Dhabi and have loads of questions swirling around in your head. As sheikhandbake mentioned, it is Ramadan at the moment so the board tends to slow down and people are gearing up to leave for the summer. The other thing is that most posters live in DUBAI so wouldn't be able to answer your questions about Abu Dhabi. I know I can't help you. I do however hope you find the answers soon. Good luck with the move

I know everyone has busy lives whether that's at work or looking after children or a home or all three but I've been looking through the threads on this forum and posted one myself and no one comments, I asked several questions about random things and they're not difficult to answer or so I thought, no one has helped with even one of them, but I've had over 300 views. I'm not living in Abu Dhabi yet but I like to think that when I do I can answer someone's question or give my opinion on a school or a specific part of town. There are so many threads on here with 0 comments and honestly I'm dissapointed. I had hoped that this website would help us with our move in 2 or 3 months, and yes there is several sections that have provided information but it doesn't cover the little things that are swilling around in my head. So, I shall just google them or wait till I get there and find out for myself.
