my Dh took me to the mall of the emirates ... he bought me a steam iron ............ 15 sets of wooden hangers .............. and a knife block with the knifes having the sharpest edges in the world............. Snigger and pmsl!!!! Snigger!!! pmsl!!!! We never do anything special today, but a week or two back I liked two diamond rings and he bought me both :) He said by the time of your birthday next month you might be in labor, and plus this is the first time you liked some jewellery.... and I just think he was in a generous mood.

Nothing so far but he's booked for us to go away for the weekend. I got him some nice toiletries. A couple of years ago he arranged for us to fly to paris, first class and stay at a fab hotel, red and white roses at breakfast, a bag from dior in the afternoon and a lovely dinner at night. he can't really top that :-) <em>edited by A Rancher on 14/02/2011</em>

Not normally bothered by Valentines, we usually get a card for each other. DH completely forgot the date and apologised last night that he'd forgotten ... ok no worries. I'd made home made cards for him and DS and bought a lovely heart biscuit thing from Costas for each of them ........ but now I feel really miffed. DH grumpty 'cos he's working tonight, can't blame him I guess. Perhaps my over 40 hormones are kicking in?? Why do I feel so miffed? Ah well off to cook a nice dinner for them now :-( ps Dog seems to love me :-)

One team, one wallet = if I want something I'll get it when I want to get it, not wait for him to 'surprise me' with something I don't really care for, and I'm not going to pay upscaled prices to buy something I don't want for the sake of celebrating a holiday that has no purpose. My husband loved me yesterday. He'll love me tomorrow. He doesn't love me more today. And he doesn't love me any less because he didn't take me for a meal with money we could use for something we actually want. (I noticed a couple of Australians with the same sentiments - is this inbred into us at school/birth?) I am sure it is-can remember being told from a very young age that so called Hallmark holidays were not important-didn't stop dad hiding romantic notes around the house all through the year for my mum to find-she was still finding them years after he died <em>edited by wuffles on 14/02/2011</em>

He has been my Valentine for 24 years and although I have always done something special my husband says he loves me everyday and doesn't need a date on the calendar telling him to spend money and what to say and feel. I have accepted this but still each February 14th I do wish for a little something special. Today, however, all of my past disappointments have been forgotten. My unromantic husband not only made my day but my decade by posting a link to my facebook page to the amazing Freddy Mercury fronting Queen and singing 'You're my best friend'. [i'>*please google you tube clip I am at work and can't post it*[/i'> He stayed up watching the screen for when I 'liked' it and then called me and said that it might have taken him 21 years of marriage and 24 years together but he had finally found our song. I think I'll keep him :) That's lovely C!

After a prolonged period of arguments, strife and unhappiness (the best part of 4 years!) my DH is a changed man this year and I LIKE it! He actually remembered Valentines day today and woke me after a little lie in with a red rose, a card and a lovely little hand painted Arabic dish. For the second time in the history of our 14 year relationship he's cooking me dinner tonight and there's a chilled bottle of bubbles in the fridge too. I'm feeling pretty happy! :) Glad things are turning around for you. It must be a relief. I guess any long term relationship is a roller coaster. DH got me an iphone4. Very happy. Probably not very romantic but I am well pleased :) I am feeling quite bad though, I didn't even get him a card! doh!!!:\: plz plz, can you ask him where and when he bought it?! we've turned the town upside down looking for one!!!!
