other day i ate scotch pancakes and the taste was different then normal. i have googled for recipes or the difference but havn't found any?

Yes, they're different. The ones from Spinneys aren't Scotch pancakes either though! As DubaiCat says, they're smaller and thicker but they're also not as sweet. I've got my Granny's recipe if you'd like it (dashing out now for the school run and afternoon activities). Maybe I should make some this afternoon for Burns night :) JHM- would love to hear the recipe if possible... MTIA :)

ahem, scotch pancakes are normal pancakes. size is irrelevant, batter is thicker, sugar is added to the mixture and they are most delicious eaten hot, straight from the pan and dripping with butter, maybe a bit of jam if that's your preference.

Where I come from Scotch pancakes are the little thick ones and normal pancakes are the thin ones you have with lemon and sugar. I'm hungry now...
